He will probably take carries from Wille Parker on the goal line, and might push him for carries the rest of the game. The guy is 5' 11" and probably around 225lbs. I'm sorry but I don't see Mendenhall getting more than 10 touches a game. He WILL take carries away from Parker on the goal line, but for him to count as a fantasy steal he's going to have to show great consistency. That'll be awfully hard to show sharing the ball. Najeh Davenport was used last year in the same way you're describing and had 5 touchdowns. The Steelers just pass a whole lot in the red zone last year taking more scoring opportunities away from a RB. The only way he shows fantasy promise to me is if Parker gets hurt. It just won't count as a 'fantasy steal' otherwise. Go ahead and rub it in my face later if I'm wrong, but I just don't see it (And I hope I am since I'm a Steelers fan). I do really like Mendenhall as a player and would go so far as to say I think he has a legit shot of being the starter in the future. 1. Jonathan Stewart (CAR) 2. Matt Leinart (ARI) 3.
