+1 thumbs upOkay...my take:

First, I don't know that Favre would really want to go to the Jets...what would be the odd of them making the playoffs, let alone winning their division?  Minimal...granted, they would start the year with essentially 4 guaranteed wins, and that's without looking at their schedule (Buffalo and Miami).  But could they realistically take the Division from New England?  NO.  Most of us probably presume that the Wild Cards will be 10-11 win teams, if not higher...probably a mix of Jacksonville/Tennessee/Indianapolis and Pittsburgh/Cleveland.  But who knows...maybe Denver gets hot, too.  I just personally think that Brett would prefer an NFC team where things aren't quite as deep and he has more chances of success.

However, if the deal were done, he would be the best QB in NY...and what if?  What if he was all that the Jets really needed to vault to that level?  What kind of icon would he be then?  Maybe for that reason alone, we should hope this doesn't happen!

+3 thumbs upWhat could be better, Favre in NY throwing more picks on a bad team. Man, that would be so AWESOME. He would not make the Jets any better at all. But it isnt absurd for the Jets to make this move. Remember they reached, when they drafted Gholston

+1 thumbs upI guess they could ask for a first round draft pick, but does anyone in their right mind think they would get a first rounder?

+1 thumbs upThere's no way the Jets win the division, even if they had Favre in his prime. And even with Favre, they would be a borderline playoff team. They are not in a "win-now" situation, so a deal like that would make no sense.

That being said, they should go for it, because it would make their team temporarily better, but hurt them in the long run. And as a Patriots fan, I'm all for it.

+1 thumbs upNot too sure that Favre would benefit either team. Not to say that he is not a great Ballplayer. Just realistically thinking, his career is at the end of days.

+1 thumbs upIf Favre was to go to the Jets the only thing that would rise or go higher would be the Average Age of the team. Favre sorry to say is done, washed up, needs to live with the decision he made, and anyone who supports senior citizenship for them team, well more power to ya.

+1 thumbs upi think whatever they get for him, its gonna be at the very best a third round pick. They should let him play, he gives the pack a shot at the SB

+1 thumbs up

As stated above they probably make second in the division without him anyway.  Is Farve going to get the JETS to superbowl? No

At most they make the playoffs and lose in early rounds.  Do you really need to rent a player for an early playoff exit.  Not worth giving up any high draft picks thats for sure.  Chance to sell some number 4 Jets jerseys and a trivia question is all about this move is good for.
