Yesterday afternoon around 5:00 or so, security called me saying "O.R. 5 is requesting the angel cart."  So I sent a transporter up to the O.R. with what it really is, the morgue cart...yeah, we're not very technical, we call it what it really is.  So she gets up there, parks it in front of the doors to pre-op holding, and goes in to tell the nurse at the desk...nurse knows nothing about it.  She called security who told her the same thing he told me.  The transporter and the nurse go into room #5 to check, and nobody's there!  She calls other places like short stay and ambulatory surgery to see if they needed it, and they told her no.  I told the transporter to bring the cart back down and if we locate the dead body we'd get the morgue cart where it needs to go.  About 10:00 last night I called security, and the guy said nobody ever called him back.  He and I both think it might've been a prank, but that's one very morbid prank to pull.  April Fools was almost three months ago.

Conspiracy-Theory-Tuesday: Talking to my man Irv last night and he wanted to know what the deal was with Brees and the Saints? No one knows, but I think it goes to the larger story down on the Bayou. Who had the most at stake with bountygate? Vilma? Payton? Loomis? Nope, it's Brees because he would have been the target of all the retaliation. So here's my take, he's the mole. He named names. He's a bizzaro Fredo because he's actually the organizations golden boy not the weak link. So, Loomis can't take him fishing (not while the old man is alive). Also he's become a vocal supporter of his teammates (after initially playing the idk card, weird right?) and he is developing a conspiracy theory of his own concerning the coaches. Plus since every conspiracy involves money which needs to be followed (Watergate, China Town, etc. Brees has even admitted it's about the cheddar, since he's gone through an injury in San Diego. He's NOW at risk again and needs those dollars.) Don Loomis was going to make this difficult, if not impossible.

[Mickey kisses his cheek] I knew it was you Drew. You broke my heart.

last night was the funnest monday night ever!

first, i tried a sauna for the first time, what a miserable experience that is. i did dry and wet. the dry made me scared my bones were going to burst into flames and the wet made my tongue hurt. i liked it better wet though, so i hiked up my run pants way up and proceeded to sweat like a pig. exhausted from all the trying to breathe, i (fart) rested my elbows on my knees, but i was soaked and my elbows peeled out across my thighs and i face planted with a very awesome, wet slap on the tile floor. i can't wait to try again tonight!

afterwards, roomie taught me a game i had never played before! it's called belly racing. you get like this:

and race for like 5feet...more if you're really good at it. we had the olympic swim trials on the telly, so as soon as the ready-set-go "boop" would go, we'd start our heat. the rocking horse technique is really the best. except today my ribs, boobies, hips and other various pokey parts are not only brusiey, but flat and i think possibly temporarily inverted.

worth it.

Morning, Everybodee!

Last night was quiet with only one kid at home.  I'm enjoying the peace as much as I can.

News this morning tells that our school district's previous superintendent may be losing his pension.  He was let go last year, but because allegedly there was some possible chance he might have sued the district, he was allowed to use up built-up vacation time and other categories to get to the minimum time necessary for a pension.   (He was also given a year and a half in pay on top of that.)

Now, the state pension board is looking for proof of any sickness he may have had during that time, as he had Sick Time added into that period of time.   But since he wasn't actually sick, they're gonna be looking to kick him out of the pension program and for repayment of whatever amount he has received.    Booyah!

Also heard that our previous principal is scrambling trying to get out of blame for the mess our football field has taken.  There was dirt hauled in as part of a project to level the field, that one of the previous football coaches had been working on.  The principal is trying to claim having no knowledge of what happened.  However it's difficult to deny anything when it's your signature on the approval forms.

Anyone ever hear of Operation Wetback???  I found this interesting:

What did Presidents Hoover, Truman, and Eisenhower have in common?

This is something that should be of great interest for you to pass around.

I didn't know of this until it was pointed out to me.

Back during the great depression, Herbert Hoover ordered the deportation of ALL illegal aliens in order to make jobs available to American citizens that desperately needed work.

Harry Truman deported over two million illegal aliens after WWII to create jobs for returning veterans.

In 1954 Dwight Eisenhower deported 13 million Mexicans.

The program was called Operation Wetback.

It was done so WWII and Korean veterans would have a better chance at jobs. It took two years, but they deported them!

Now, if they could deport the illegal aliens back then, they could sure do it today. If you have doubts about the validity of this information, enter Operation Wetback into your favorite search engine and confirm it for yourself.

1. You do realize that there are thousands of illegal immergrants that aren't Mexican? They are Irish, Chinese, Russian, Jamaican, etc. 2. If the returning vets were interested in taking these jobs. They would be applying for them. They don't want to be paid minimum wage. They feel they deserve better, honestly, I believe they do too. If they wanted these low paying jobs with little respect and no benefits, they would get them.

Here's the monetary cost of a war on illegal immigration, which as some of you have pointed out, would be as successful as the war on drugs. Throw in the price of collateral damage and you can see why the McCarthian approach to problems NEVER work. Now as it pertains to jobs today, they aren't here because they emigrated (see what i did there?) overseas via outsourcing. And we are ill equipped to fill positions in our growth areas of the economy. (that's actually interesting) As always we are our own worst enemy and we refuse to see that education is the panacea to it all - jobs, crime, health care, etc. We live in an information age with knowledge as currency. Guess how our 'dollar' stacks up? So where is our nations political discourse focused? Yep, illegal immigration, gay marriage, abortion, poor people are lazy and rich people are evil an what not. Stoopid is as stoopid does. #ThatsHowWeDo

My dad a Vet himself said he is all for protecting our borders and the country and on the whole people coming into this country should do it legally.  BUT  he said the problem he has with things are these people (he said mexicans, ill be more politically correct lol) are talked about by too many like they are animals and killing our country. Like he said many of these people are honest and hard working people looking to give their families a better life and no matter what color or country there is nothing wrong with that.  And why is all the blame always put on these people and not the business men in the states that hire them ?   Or the system that on a whole wants these people here behind closed doors because the dirt cheap labor they provides saves some industries million or millions of dollars ?

He said seeing the poor people of Vietnam while fighting there gave him a understanding of why these people do what they do and how often they are in a bad position by no fault of their own and simply want something better.  He said whether they should be able to come here illegally can be argued for ever from either side and that is left up to the politicians but the people themselves should at least have our understanding because we do live in a country that they only wish to be a working part of  for the most part (some exceptions of course like cartel trash) and what country can't use more good people !

You are blaming all the crime on illegals? haha that's pretty funny. And no the illegals there probably do the dishwashing, landscaping, and housekeeping, stuff that a lot of americans think they above doing. My comment about strawberry picking was just an example. I am not saying they should be here illegally, all I'm saying is a lot of them that are, are actually law abiding and just trying to work at whatever they can. There should be a way to help the ones like that become citizens rather then send them back to where they came from.

Sure but the blame for so many not doing it "legally" can't be placed at the feet of these people alone.  Industries in this country want illegal immigrants here because they greatly profit from that work force ,  so who is worse the hard worker coming to get his family a better life or the US businessman who hires him to take advantage of his cheap labor and immigrant status to save a buck !

So if an immigrant is here and never been in trouble, they should be sent back instead of given a chance to become a citizen? I totally get what you are saying, its just that once they are sent back, their chances of coming back legally decrease greatly. What if they have kids that are born here, which makes them legal, should they have to go back to a country that they are not even citizens of? There has to be a better way is all I'm saying.

Immigration is always a touchy subject.

I'm all for doing things the legal way, but many say the legal way is broken.  It takes forever to go through legal channels.  Our government should look at revamping the system, but they only seem to pull the issue off the shelf and look at it during election years.  Gee, wonder why.

I am white (and I'll call myself a gringo as well, no offense here) and my wife is Mexican.   She was a resident alien when we met and married, and later became naturalized US citizen.  My kids, all who are half caucasian and half mexican, are all US Citizens by birth.  (Both on US soil as well as being born to US citizens.)

As I've said, I'm all for doing things the legal way, but  I have always felt that if I lost my current job I would do whatever it takes to keep my family going.  Even if it means having to bend a few laws to do so.   I don't blame other hard-working people who only want the same thing.

Our government reps need to get back to work, do all that compromising their being paid to do, and fix their immigration policy mess.  Not ignore the laws they already have on the books, or blaming the states for wanting to pick up where Feds left off on their own.    They want to complain about state immigration laws (which are modeled after the Federal laws which already exist), well then fix your own mess!

(Wait, too much sense coming from a Fool. Sorry about that.  I'll fix that in my next post.)

When it comes right down to it, "send them all back" is a hypocritical thing for anybody to say, unless you're 100% Native American...and I don't know many of those. And the Native Americans I do know might be considered "Liberals" on the conservative scale, so evidently they're the problem with this country anyway.

You're right when you say there is a paradigm shift left (for better or worse or whatever. I honestly don't know?), but we are still easily the most conservative of the "first world' countries in terms of national policy and the way we are governed. We incarcerate people like China, have gun laws like former Soviet block countries, the base line for morality is Leviticus much like it is Sharia in middle eastern countries, our Homeland security is kinda North Korean at it's base, etc. Not exactly the types of countries we seem to appreciate. To your point the problem IS shifting too far one way or the other, we can as a whole never settle on something in the middle. We aren't a country of concessions.

Whatup?
Well I know I'm in here kinda late (again), but I walked in on kind of a nelly of a discussion. No one's moved one way or the other. I can say there has been more talk on the good ol' F/E  than in Congress and the Senate combined.
And to think all I had was I finally saw "The Avengers"...
As far as my opinion, I think there are to kinds of immigrants in America. Not "LEGAL" or "illegal" "Productive" or "Counter-Productive". The issue goes way deeper than be legal or be gone.. What do you do with the Colombian kid who's mom came here illegal so her kid can be born "legal"? How bout the French kid who is working , doing positive things, but his Visa runs out?
Now the dope dealer that has come back after his 3rd deportation. That guy shouldn't be here, but that's different.
That's what the Dream Act is about. This country has always been a melting pot. In fact, ALL OF US WERE IMMIGRANTS. Some by choice, others...not so much. But we all came here and mad this place what it is now.

Hey guys, thought that I would come in with my soap box and join for a second...

I don't see the problem NOW as being immegrant related.  To an extent it WAS a few years ago, but now the only jobs immegrants get are ones that white 'Amuricuns' wouldn't do (which was previously mentioned by many).  They would rather sit in their single-wide sippin' Mickeys or Boone's Farm waitin' on their welfare check than work at a car wash or as a bus boy(girl) or (insert menail minimum wage labor related job here), whereas immegrants will take those jobs.  I don't see them as a problem, in fact, I'd rather deport the waste-of-skin, lazy, worthless white trash that litters this great country.

Having said that, I used to own a construction buisness.  I made really good money.  In fact, the money was good across the board in the construction trades.  It was so good that illegals would come all the way up into Oregon to work for half of what I would.  I can't blame them for it because even what they made was a sh!t-ton more than they could make in Mexico.  But because they came up and also in part to 'W' lowering the standards for loan acceptance, I lost my house and my company.

The point I'm getting at in a very round-about way is that illegal immegration was never a pit fall of our country, the 'leaders' that we elect are.  The 'slight of hand' that politicians give us, and that we collectively slurp up, is all Immegration is.  They're directing our/your attention to something ultimately insignificant so they can keep our/your focus away from what's really going to screw us over.  They do that because, quite frankly, that's what makes them filthy rich when they're labeled as 'frauds' and 'charlotains' and leave office.  What should be really important to us today and be #1 on the adjendas of politicians is what's going to happen when an entire generation of Americans defaults on their student loans and what happens when half of Europe goes bankrupt.  In comparison to those, Immegration is pretty insignificant.

Good day, bitches.

See, if I'd gotten here earlier, I might have jumped in on this whole immigration thing.  Team Whoever Is Against Joe ... he's usually wrong about everything.

Be that as it may, I have my own s**t to talk about that is WAY more important than illegal immigration in this country.  I wanna talk about my day for a moment.  Don't worry, I have a couple visual aids for the ADD/ADHD crowd.

so i passed out somewhere between American Ninja Warrior and 5am when my alarm went off.  That made for a disappointing wake-up this morning since I not only stood-up Stoney (oopsie blush <-- PS - I hate this smiley thing), but I also didn't throw my clothes in the dryer before bed and forgot to take my poor mutt out (double oopsie ... no stupid smiley this time).  So not only did I have to wear damp-dry clothes to work this morning ... and unlike most of the country, it was pretty chilly here all day ... but I also woke up to this...

It was sad and super cute, so I had to snap a picture.  Meanwhile, she's staring out my sliding doors, probably barely holding on without peeing all over my carpet.  indecision  I'm a good mom.

Then I go to work and get a voicemail halfway through my day from the Amish Country Store confirming the delivery of my new shed.  This shed also requires a permit and will be delivered on Friday.  This would be great news if I had ordered a shed.  Ever. In my life.  I don't even have a yard, what the f**k do I need with a shed?

And to top it all off, work was horribly busy.  My friend text (that is the past-tense of text, just so you know) me and asked how busy I was, so I sent her this picture...

So the text conversation went like this...

Kim:  Is all that hair just from today?
No, idiot, I've been saving it up for weeks just so I could send you this picture and have this lovely chat with you.
Me:  Yeah.
Kim:  Really?
I didn't know what to say to that, so I just said it again, louder.
Me:  YEAH!

fine, i'll do it. these look perfect.

and i just listened to burnt weeny sandwich while i looked at thousands of 'dogs.

yep:

i even got a little carried away and googled "hot dog porn" on my phone just for %!%!. it exists. dunno why i'm surprised.

then i giggled at the story from the lake house a couple weeks ago:
last night we were there, we decided to do a "clean the fridge out" dinner so we didn't have to take food home. everyone had hotdogs. and they were delicious. after dinner, someone asked "so, who brought the hot dogs?" no one answered. turned out they belonged to the renters before us. we were a little creeped out but they were unopened so, no big deal right? well, then my sister and her husband remembered that the fridge had been off when they got there.
needless to say, all 9 of us sat around nervously through the heat/celtics and the kings/devils games and every now and them one of us would ask how the others were feeling. by about 10pm that night, the caustic farts started escaping. no one was innocent.

Looks like I'm too late (as usual) to take part in today's debate, which is just as well, since I would just prefer to ignore the bigot. In lieu of participating though, I gave out probably more respects in this thread and I have in entirety all month. Also, anyone worrying about a "liberal shift" needs to not worry, the Supreme Court will and is taking care of that for you.

Weather is perfect right now, so I'm about to head out and jog outside, even I'm very very bad at it and look very very ridiculous doing it.

This is a from a few days ago, but I just found out about it today. MTV is going with a weekday morning (9 am-12) "Retro Mania" block. Of course, this being MTV, retro means The Hills and Laguna Beach. However, what did those geniuses at MTV decide to pair these documentaries of vapidity with?

I cannot believe the stupidity of people sometimes...actually yes I can.  One transporter had 2 separate incidents tonight and neither were his fault.  First he went to take a patient from the ER, and the ER called and said they put the wrong person in.  So he had to take the wrong person back to the ER and take the right person to their room.  Supposedly the patient they originally put in tracking for him to take was going to the opposite end of the hospital, 3311 (East) instead of 311 (Main).  His right patient was room 46, and they put in 43.  If that's not confusing enough, that was only part one.  His last trip was a transfer from 3 Pavilion to a room on 7 Main, opposite end of the hospital.  He gets the patient to the new room only to find that it's occupied.  I told him to call the other floor and ask where this patient is supposed to go.  They said to him "isn't 728 on the Pavilion?"  He told them no it wasn't, and so he had to take the patient all the way back over to the other side to room 788...upstairs on the same wing the patient was originally in!  It's nights like this that make me glad I don't have to transport all the time now.

Actually, saying that someone is a bigot is not as much name calling as calling someone a "douche". But the original comment by me was to both of you. I suggest you be careful.

Just for clarification, we all know the real definition of "douche" and the name-calling definition. The real definition of a bigot is as follows:
Bigotry is the state of mind of a "bigot", a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices, especially one who exhibits intolerance or animosity toward members of a group

Obviously there's a bit of a difference.

When not in jest, even censoring out an insult to another user is not allowed. If you're offended by being called a bigot, then we'll make sure it doesn't happen again. However, by definition of the word, you can see how some of your posts might lead somebody to that conclusion - "members of a group" also includes gays.  Unlike the word douche, bigot is one of those words like misogynist; it's not really just a word used solely for name calling...there's usually reasoning behind people using it. Some people wear monikers like that proudly. But, as I said, if you're insulted and offended by the word then any time someone calls you that, report it and we'll ask the person not to call you that again. Since this is a public forum (I usually prefer to do this in private), and Eric will see this post, it's unnecessary this time, but in the future, report it.

We can all *think* somebody is a douche (in fact we probably ALL act like one from time to time here), but it's not ok to say it unless in jest. Even if it's censored out.

As per the Urban Dictionary (the only place I could find the definition of the word in the same context you used it):

Douche: a word to describe an individual who has shown themself to be very brainless in one way or another, thus comparing them to the cleansing product for vaginas.

I would say that's pretty insulting/offensive.

Yes, but you got your pencil online, from overseas, in a box with plain brown wrapping, because you are clearly overcompensating for something else. That doesn't count.
