I'd like to see him in as a Red but his best years were in Seattle.

Yea but he has always wanted to be a Red and I think he will be a Red in the HOF.

You might be right.  I'd like to see him at least make 700 HRs here.

Tragedy: Junior could be chasing Aaron right now and the baseball world would be in fevered anticipation, on every single pitch.  Hate to even think about it.

Hall of Famers don't get to choose their hats anymore.  I think they'll put him in as a Mariner if the voters do put him in.  If Griffey got to choose, he'd probably go in as a Red, seeing as how he grew up in the city watching his dad play.

+2 thumbs upI love it!!!! I have always loved watching Griff play and when he came back to his home town and my Reds I was extremely happy.  Not only is Griffey one of the greatest of all time but he is a great person too.  I taught myself how to switch hit in softball just so I could get to swing like him and on top of that he is the reason I started wearing my hat backwards.

If Griffey gets to 3000 career hits, 700 HR or even the record, he'll go in as a Red

Didn't the HOF decide a few years ago that they make the call on the cap?  I remember this came out around the time that there was talk that Boggs may go in as a D Ray.

+1 thumbs upI think Griffey should definitely be inducted as a Mariner thats where he made his name thats where people remember him being a superstar. He built Safeco Field by himself and single handedly saved baseball in Seattle and I strongly believe he will finish his career there.

That is the only place I can see him going to if he left the Reds, but I think he wants to finish in his hometown where he grew up around baseball and watched his dad play all those years.  This is the city he went to high school in, this is where he spent a good portion of his life before he became a Mariner, I can't see him wanting to leave the Reds.

+1 thumbs upThere is no way he will go in as a Red. The HOF decides what uniform he will wear and he clearly has better numbers with Seattle. No question. He saved that franchise. The fans here in Cincinnati have been empathetic at best. He is miserable here and probably wishes he never left Seattle. On a side note: I'm sitting in his seats tonight. My wife's friend house sits for him and he gave her his tickets. Can't wait.

He was the best CF possibly in baseball history while playing for Seattle.

When did they change that policy?  I wasn't aware that the player couldn't choose(if the no. of games played were similar among two different franchises)

Correct.

But it wasn't a result of Boggs Tampa contract.  It was building up for a while and finally When Winfield made the call to go in as a Padre instead of a Yankee (I hate the Yankees, but he should have gone in as a Yankee considering he played the bulk of his carreer there...) the Hall officials decided to step in and halt the players choice.  Before Winfield, Reggie should have gone in as an Athletic rather than a Yankee.  But at the time he made the decision, the Yankees were signing his paychecks.

The first year after that decision they had an issue with Gary Carter.  Who publicly said he wanted to go in as a Met (not surprising since he was working for the Mets at the time) but the Hall made the right call and had him go in as an Expo.

Thanks for clearing that up for me.

I think he has enough time left in him to make in impact as a Red. I would definitely like to see him in as a Red. He will definitely have more time with the Reds than he did with the Mariners.

I lived in Seattle when he was there, he will go in as a Mariner. He was by far the player of the 90s while in Seattle. He may have more years in Ohio, but I think he still has more games and far more of everything else in Seattle. HRs, hits, gold gloves, RBIs, you name it.
