Have you been to an Away Game?
So, I went to my first away football game In New Orleans on Monday. It was awesome!! I had a blast even though we lost. It is quite different to be almost the only one standing up, cheering, and proudly wearing red while surrounded by the "enemy". I was a target from the moment I got out of the car in the parking deck (red is quite noticeable) to the time I got back in the car. There was much trash talking but it ended peacefully. This made me think of the Q, and I was wondering about your visiting experiences: Good, Bad, or Ugly! So, if you have been a fan at an away game, tell me how it was for you.

I've seen the Phillies in St. Pete, the Flyers in Tampa, and even the Soul (AFL) in Tampa.  I've also had chances to see the Eagles and Sixers when they came down to Florida too, but just missed them.

I lived in L.A. and sat dead center in a Dodger Fan filled stadium section, and cheered like a madman for the Montreal EXPOS (before they became the Nationals)... There is no bigger rush to hear the roar of the crowd for the home team, them stand up as they finish and with all your might, yell BOOOOOO!  Then ate a Dodger Dawg in their faces!!

-Was at a Predators game a while back when the Rangers destroyed them 5-2  Of course standing and rootin my Blueshirts!
- Dallas @ Atlanta 18Dec on a Sat night before past season ( TO "spat" on D Hall?) One of the few happy white boys there!
- Going next month (with same buddy from NY) to see Eagles @ Falcons... guess I'll have to cheer for his Dirt Birds this time

Tampa for a Red Sox game, got the "rental car" keyed all the way around.  Got in a beer brawl in the stands.  Lots of fun.
Seattle fans were cool.

I went to a Broncos/Charger game in 19987. Technically it was a road game but there were about 25% Bronco fans there at the game and in my section there were a majority of Bronco fans. But some moron thought throwing a hot dog at me was a good idea, however just like the Charger QB's at that time his aim was off and hit a bigger guy than me, and the thrower and the guy he hit got into a fight and both were ejected. The funny thing is they both were in Charger gear.

I've seen the White Sox play at Wrigley Field a few times. The crowd is split pretty evenly for those games though.

At Wake Forest and at Virginia Tech for Husker games were good.  Of course Wake Forest is small and Nebraska was able to travel well there.

At Penn State was Bad, with students yelling F*ck the Huskers about 30 minutes before game time.  The two Asses next to me were a couple of drunk idiots also, most of the other fans around me were good, especially since Penn St. won and they were just as shocked that they were winning as I was.

At Missouri is the Ugly.  Granted it was the Miracle at Mizzou, but those fans were complete Asses.  I got a yellow and gold pom pom when I walked into the game, and I was waving it everytime the Huskers did something good.  But those fans were relentless in verbal assaults during and after the game.  I'm sure there was some fighting somewhere, but we missed it.

I've been to Cardinal games at Wrigley, Sox games at Wrigley, and Sox games at Busch! Never personally had any problems, just good natured kidding. More of an edge to Cubs/Sox than either of the others.

i've been to a lot of away games in the austrian soccerleague, but to be honest, during this time it was not about supporting my
team. it was only for fighting, we can lose the game but we're wining the fight. also when we went to england to watch soccer we just picked the games with most of the action afterwards. "We're Hools we're fight we're Chelsea's dynamite"

I have been to 22 of the 30 Major League Baseball parks, 11 Spring Training parks, 16 College Football Stadiums, 12 of the 32 NFL Stadiums, 6 NBA Arena's.... I'm a very luck guy.... the most hostile was attending a Steeler-Browns game, fights all over the place.  The nicest crowd is Anaheim Stadium, the nicest ballpark is A.T. & T. in San Francisco for a Giants game.  I have also been to 4 Superbowls, 7 World Series games, 1 NBA Final and 2 Baseball All-Star games...  and I've only just begun.
