How hot...
Does it have to be, before you let or allow your kids to run through hose water?

I was outside yesterday with my kids and the neighbor baby ( 18 mo) and her dad said that he would let her play in the pool ( which has a sprinkler on it that shoots out hose water) I said, OMG its FREEZING, it was about 80 degrees.. he said its fine.. So I went got a thermometer and took the hose waters temp.. cause I am weird and bored.  So my two questions are, how hot does it have to be for your kids, or you to run through hose water? and the other is, how cold do you think my hose water was?

Feel free to take your hose's temp and post it here.. up here in the arctic the hose water might be colder than yours..

+22 thumbs upWe don't have kids yet, but I let my wife run through the water hose whenever she wants.  The colder, the better.

55 degrees? Do not let the department of social services know that your kids are playing in water that cold.  :-)

The rule growing up from my mom was it had to be 75 degrees before we could run through the sprinkler.... We didn't have an outside thermometor, so I remember running back and forth to my neighbors porch cuz they had one.  In Seattle if it's 75, it's HOT out.

I also guessed the hose temp right on.  That sounds about right!

What the heck?  My hose sits out in the sun so when I turn it on it's hot for a while and I have to wait for it to cool down.  And my best gauge for being able to play in it would probably be the fact I can drink it without my hyper-sensitive teeth hurting, so it can't be THAT cold.  I'd imagine it probably is a bit colder up there in what is essentially a Canadian annex.

And yes, I drink hose water, it's delicious.  I want to quit the charade and bottle it and sell it.  It's all bottled water is anyway.

+1 thumbs upOh come on they at least filter it 6 times. Didn't you know that each time you run it through a filter it changes the origin of the water. So if it came out of your hose and you filtered it 6 times it would change the origin back to the spring it originally came from. Duh everyone else already knows that catch up with the times. LOL

+1 thumbs upSlip 'an' slides are awesome. Nothing like sitting in a comfortable lawn chair watching the neighborhood kids find 1000 ways to bust their butts in your front yard. Just make sure you have a video recorder going, you never know when the opportunity to make 10,000 bucks may pop up.

If you bought the slip n slide for him, you two might be the meanest parents of all-time.  First the scaring.... then buying him something just to taunt him with.  (I kinda like it -- I can't wait to have kids)
