How many trucks sould be allowed to start in Craftsman Truck Series races?
Currently the Craftsman Truck Series start 36 vehicles for every race. The other two NASCAR series start 43 vehicles. My question is this, should CTS allow more trucks to race and how many?

+3 thumbs upRemember the days when the Cup Series would only start 36 cars at most on the short tracks?  They need to do that again!  43 cars at Bristol and Martinsville is way too many.

+2 thumbs upI chose 40 'cause it's in the middle.  I truly think it depends on the track.  The larger tracks can handle 40, 42, 43+ trucks with no problem so if that many, or more, try to qualify I see no reason NOT to have 40+ trucks on the track.  But as the K-man mentioned above, the smaller tracks should limit themselves to 36 not only in the Truck Series but also the Busch Nationwide Series and the Winston Nextel  Sprint Cup.

+1 thumbs upNo change necessary. Racing is exciting and fun to watch. IMO this is the best series to watch for pure racing excitiment. Let's not let NA$CAR ruin another series by changing something that doesn't need change. Also all for going back to the 36 car lineup at the short tracks (nice thought kramer)

+2 thumbs upI love the trucks as much as anything NASCAR, but I don't understand why they didn't change it back in 96 or 97 when they went to the new race formats. I also don't understand why if this is the entry level there are so many go or go home entries being sent home. They are getting fewer and fewer entries each year. In fact at this level they should all run unless they are BADDDD SLOW and pose a danger to the other drivers. They race on the same tracks as the cars, so why not at least 40 cars or more. JMHO

+1 thumbs upThe only way that would work, would be if NASCAR did away with that damn top 35 rule. As it is now it would only allow 1 other driver to try and get in on time. I would rather see the 36 fastest by time to run than see the 35 most money teams run. In fact I wish they would drop that rule for all the races and go back to the fastest as it should be.

+1 thumbs upI think you hit on the right answer, let the track limit the number of entries. In fact I could go along with that in all  the series if the cup and NW series would do away with the top 35 rule. Otherwise most to all of the smaller teams would just go elsewhere to race.

+1 thumbs upi think it all depends on how many trucks show up for the races, are there that many trucks that show up and dont qualify that have to go home or only a couple??

+2 thumbs upDon't know why they can't be the same as the other two nascar series, what's the big deal. More drivers and more chances for others.
