How will the Portland Trail Blazers do this season? (Edited 11/15/08 03:59PM by Seth)

Last year, the Blazers LUCKED INTO the # 1 draft pick and picked up Greg Oden from the Ohio State. The investment takes an immediate turn for the worst when Oden gets hurt and has season ending surgery BEFORE the season starts. Without Oden, the Blazers BARELY MISS making the playoffs. But, now he is back, so what can we expect from the investment?

Living here, I used to have to read about which Blazer was involved in a dog fighting ring, or which Blazer wife picked up the kids from preschool drunk. Nowadays, Blazer players help the community because they WANT TO, not because they HAVE TO (for court-ordered community service)! Never claimed to be a Blazer fan, but the sports page is more uplifting to read now! Advance to second round, but lose

#6 \| 19 days ago Jahiegel (+)	My preseason projections had the Blazers tenth in the West (but fully eight games adrift of the Nuggets, whom I liked to get the conference's final playoff spot), but I'm inclined to think they'll finish at least ninth; they certainly won't displace the Jazz, Lakers, Suns, Rockets, Mavericks, Hornets, and Spurs from the postseason, but they should compete with the Nuggets, Warriors, and Kings for the eighth seed, with which comes, one regrets to say, a loss to the Lakers in four. He is injury prone, expect a repeat of last year.
