"IF" Brett Favre, with the Jets, makes it to the playoffs, does he stick around for another year?
A great amount of people are under the assumption that Favre is "done."  Basically, "Last year [he] had a good year, because [he] had a great team around [him]" is the common theme I hear spouted about all over the place.

If this is true, that last year was a good year "mainly due to his supporting cast" .... than I believe a playoff birth this year, with the Jets, would put that argument to sleep ... especially since he has to face the Pats twice ... for most teams they can just chalk that up as two losses!

So pretend with me, if you will, for only a few minutes, and tell me what you think will happen if the Jets get into the playoffs ... even if they're only a Wildcard ...

Does he retire?  Does he come back?

I think he would return ..... I'm just curious to know what others think.

*****IF you're one of the ones tired of hearing about Favre and the "what ifs" around him ... I totally understand!  Up until about an hour ago, when my brain got on this wavelength, I thought I was one of you .... which is why I avoided most of the topics and headlines about this whole thing until a couple days ago ..... (it was only yesterday I found out he's a Jet).

He will still have the hunger as long as he avoids the "MADDEN curse" this year.  Plus, if they make the playoffs, then the team has good talent and will carry over to next year.  I will say that the following year will be his LAST.

That's what everyone has thought the last 3 years especially this past one.

+2 thumbs upI say one and done especially after the off season drama on both his and the packers part that happened this year. Let's see how much he likes getting up off the ground and being chased around this year. One good hit could be the career ender or at the least make him think of why did I ever come back.

IF he survives the season and IF they make the playoffs Brett would come back.

+1 thumbs upHe will play one year as a Jet - then try to get traded somewhere where he really wants to play - or where he knows the playbook!

Well the stipulations of his contract wont allow him to be traded without repercussions. Meaning the Jets would lose a bunch of first round picks so he has to stay another year especially if they make playoffs.

+1 thumbs upHe'll think about it AGAIN and as always, he'll then get that ITCH again and Brett wants to go out with a ring and he'll keep going till he drops to get one.

I feel that he owes it to the Jets to show up for another year if they want him back.  Whether or not he can get over himself long enough to think about that, I'm not completely sure.  I voted yes because I think that he SHOULD come back for another year.   They need to trade Kellen Clemens to the Bears.

Ummm I agree about the one good hit ending his career but come on now, he has taken several "good" hits this season and throughout his career and he still keeps on ticking.
