+2 thumbs upEven though K-Rod got 62 saves this year and I'm an Angels' fan...he is still too unpredictable.  Brad Lidge was the most reliable at 41 saves out of 41 opportunities.  And Soria for KC was very good but of course didn't get the recognition because of the team he is on.

+1 thumbs upK-Rod, Soria & Nathan are best closers in the game right now.....but man Brad Lidge was hard not to pick we had a great year & love to see him back to his old self I hope he can keep it up.

+1 thumbs upJoe Nathan has been very consistent for Minnesota over the years-plus I have to wonder how much that Rodriguez has left in the tank after 2008. Papelbon is talented, but a loose cannon & a possible future "Manny Ramirez".

+1 thumbs upI do not care what K-ROD did this year...................... there is no way I would ever pick any of these guys over the greatest closer of all time Mariano Rivera!

I would choose Nathan, Papelbon, Soria, Rivera, and Lidge ahead of K-Rod, his (mostly irrelevant) giant save total notwithstanding.

K-Rod is the hottest commodity because the Angels gave him plenty of chances. He and Papelbon are clearly the best closers right now, but it's hard to vote down Mariano. Rivera has been the best closer over the past ten years. Only Trevor Hoffman would be close.

K Rod is a solid, dominant closer that people seem to like to hate on for some reason. Trying to say things like Soria is better is just wrong. The numbers will back it up. K-Rod has electric type struff. Soria is a control/finesse guy.
