If you owned A Sports Team and a New arena or stadium was built for your team what would you name it (Edited 06/14/08 11:33PM by Seth)

Example, The San Jose sharks play at H.P. Pavillion, but it will always be "the Shark tank" and if I owned the team I would officially name it that.

It doesn't necessarily have to do w/ one team or another, but something important to the venue or the local area. How many people like the name Heinz Field? Shoulda just called it the Ketchup Coliseum. But Three Rivers Stadium? That's awesome, and very applicable. OTHER

And who needs a stadium called Lambeau Field or Soldier Field? I agree that corporate names are really bad most of the time. Names like Minute Maid or Petco Park are just lame. I don't think you should just call every stadium (insert team here) Field though. That's just as bad. Go with something regional or memorable for the fans. Babe Ruth Field or Alamo Stadium. Jackie Robinson Park. There are tons of names that don't have to be just a city. That's just as boring. Pittsburgh should call their arena Mario Lemieux Arena, the Jagrdome, or just get ahead of the game and call it Sidney Crosby Stadium. Pittsburgh Arena sounds sooo lame. Like Municipal Stadium. OTHER
