+4 thumbs upThat reflects more on the Conference strength than their weakness.  They're on pace for their best record in 21 years.

+4 thumbs upAnthony is very tanlented physically.  He has all the skills to be one of the top 5 players in the league every year, but mentally and maybe also emotionally, he is weak.  He gets frustrated too easily and lets his emotions get the best of him.  Veteran defenders pick up on this and can take him off his game too easily by getting into his head.

I agree with bigdaveSCB, Carmelo could be great maybe in time he'll learn and meet his potential. He has under-achieved his whole career so far.

He's underrated.  His mid-range game and post-up skills are almost unmatched throughout the league.  As a pure scorer, he's almost unstoppable.  He's a good rebounder as well.  He needs to improve his defense, but in no way is he overrated.

I wholeheartedly agree but I don't think this contributes to him being overrated.  He's definitely not on a LeBron or Wade level of maturation but you've got to assume (and in my case hope and pray) that with one kid and another on the way that he'll start to settle down.  He still has the best midrange jumper in the game and one of the quickest first steps ever.  I'm definitely doubting any tremendous positive impact Iverson is having on him off the court, but I'm hoping AI is at least teaching Melo how to lead.

First things first, they need to get rid of George Karl who should really be the subject of an "Overrated" poll.  His idea of coaching is looking the other way.

if he was as good as the hype around him...the Nuggets would be a great team since they also have AI!

+2 thumbs upDon't buy that argument.  Melo is a young player eager to prove himself while AI is an aging vet aiming to prove he's still got it.  Lethal combo for a team trying to find it's identity.

Melo needs to have a more complete game (passing, defense)...not just on offense.  He can still improve because of his age and veteran leadership of A.I.  "He still has the best midrange jumper in the game and one of the quickest first steps ever."->I would add Rip and Ray Allen in the mix.

Avery Johnson is overrated!  You got a hall of famer type pg and you settle with an iso with your Allstar PF on top of the key (yeah D 'Antoni, your guilty too, but with a C).  Sorry bitterness is still there

I think he should have stayed in college another year or two.     His immaturity shows too much in the NBA, he does get frustrated too easily and is not a good team player....especially on defense.      He only seems interested when the ball is in his hands.

He is extremely talented, don't get me wrong....but he really could have used some more work on his overall game & mindset in college.

Now, what would have been real interesting is if Detroit had picked him instead of Darko (HA!)....imagine how much better 'Melo would be if he had the 'mentors' from Detroit teaching him 'the game' ??!!    Think Rasheed, Rip, Billups, Prince, etc. would have let Melo play & behave the way he has in Denver ??!!

Uh, he'd be even worse.  Hamilton and Billups Technicals have almost tripled since they started playing with Sheed.

Dunno...interesting point.....but he never really had a 'role model' (or at least a 'big brother') in Denver (sorry Kenyon Martin fans !); at least he would have had some guidance in Detroit.

Darko - HA !!

Kiki was set to draft Darko, I dunno what Dumars was thinking.  I almost wish we had drafted Darko.  Kiki would have been fired soon after and wouldn't have mortgaged the future for Kenyon.  The Melo experiment is teetering on failure, and Darko is a decent big man.  Who knows.
