Tony Romo is not the next Favre, nor will he ever be. The fact people are making this comparision is sickening. Jumping the gun much?

+4 thumbs upHe's overrated anyway you slice it, overrated when he gets credit for all the Cowboys wins, overrated when you blame him for all the Cowboys losses.  I like Tony Romo, but right now he isn't the sole reason for anything.  There are 53 other guys on the team, in fact-contrary to popular belief, there are more people on the Cowboys than just T.O. and Tony Romo.

I think a little, the guy has started only a handful of games, and he is supposed to be the guy, he has no excuses this year, he has all the weapons and a running game too. It is the "gunslinger" attitude that worries me, just protect the ball maan!

+1 thumbs upBut most of his wins came vs. temas with the worst defense or who finished last in their division not a good resume and during those games he still did pretty sad with all the percentages.

19TDs, 13INTS = Pro Bowl?!!?

I think after the Cowboys team and fans suffered at the hands (or was it legs) of Bledsoe, Romo's phenomenal start was always going to be heralded as the arrival of the next prodigal son, hence the hype.

I think in time he will mature into a very good NFL QB, but we need to give it some time.

he is overrated in a sense that so many people in the media want him to do well that they think he is better than what he is

There's a really easy explanation for that.  Last year the NFC consisted of Drew Brees for Pro-Bowl QB...then who else?

+2 thumbs upWe don't know yet we know Culpepper had a better past and Romo and Culpepper will be close because Culpepper needs to prove himself to have a starting job anywhere. And Tony Romo didn't really do that good last year if you look at the stats.

Okay genius, let's look at the other quarterbacks in the NFC that you had last year...you tell me if any of these guys should've gone to Honolulu, I'll tell you what I think...

Rex Grossman - NO

Eli Manning - NO

Brad Johnson - NO

Matt Hasselbeck - based on 2006 NO

Alex Smith - NO

Matt Leinart - NO

Michael Vick - NO

Bruce Gradkowski - NO

Marc Bulger - NO

Brett Favre - NO

Donovan McNabb - injured so NO

Jeff Garcia - MAYBE you could make a case for him

Your argument about Culpepper being close to Romo is what's really the joke.  Daunte Culpepper and Randy Moss are nothing without each other.  Neither has been any good since they split up.

+6 thumbs upjust to add on a little bit more..... Culpepper was nothing without Moss's great play and catches. all he had to do was throw the ball high and long and Moss caught it. he has no accuracy on short routes at all and without his legs under him- is no threat. Romo on the other hand, though he may not be as established in the NFL as Culpepper, has a ton of weapons to throw to and is deadly accurate on short to medium range passes. he will make some mistakes like all young quarterbacks do but the offense surrounding him will help limit his mistakes.
