Is this wrong?? (Edited 08/13/07 10:02AM by Seth)
So... my only access to the internet while on vaca is...

MCDONALDS.

So... they have NO outlets to plug into there... so I decided that I could just pull into a handicap spot and use my little plug it in the car thing... because well, I have to have a good connection right??

So the question is... is it wrong that I am taking one of the only 2 (the other is empty) handicap spots for internet use???

depends if there is a sign or not.  if there is a sign you are breaking the law.  if its just painted on the ground its no big deal, it won't hold up in court.

they park in our spots too.

I don't know

+2 thumbs upAre you handicapped? Because if not, I would say go over to Walmart and but an extension cord and move over to the spot next to the handicapped ones.

+1 thumbs upI think the fact that you had second thoughts at all means you can't be called a horrible person.  I think it's obvious that you felt badly enough about it that you'd be paying attention to the fact that if it appeared someone handicapped needed to park in that spot you would vacate it.  You're ok.

Have to agree with what Terika said....This does not make you a bad person....I am sure many who are not handicap have pulled in to a handicap spot at least once at one time or another. On the other hand Reason I went with A is because I don't think it's cool etc either....I just think we should all try to respect the fact it is reserved parking for handicaps and try to find another spot where you can connect!

You should have parked at an angle and taken up both places.  I'm sick and tired of all this catering to the horribly handicapped.  Sure, they want to be treated as equals, yet YOUR tax dollars (not mine; I'm a dodge) pay for THEIR special parking spots, bus lifts, curb slopes and billions of ramps (I do enjoy the ramps, though).

That said, you were probably trolling porn sites on your computer while some limb-less person (that would be me) wiggled like a worm en route to a Party Meal.  Or Happy Meal.  Or whatever.

Lord forbid you ever become handicap and since you don't pay taxes we should just push you off a hill somewhere and forget about you!

A Large majority of those who do become handicapped have worked like a dog for 30 plus years and have paid in plenty of there hard earned money (unlike yourself) to pay for special parking etc... if needed!!

Old people usually get theirs in no later than 9 am, on the other hand if the special olympics makes a stop through for a commercial then...your screwed. I might be wrong for my comment.

i'm a bit cynical of specialised parking spaces anyway - over here in the UK we have spaces near entrances for "Disabled" and "Parent with Child" parking - what about spaces dedicated to those who are able bodied, without children but feel discriminated against ?

Let's not forget that disabled people are also able to park in able-bodied spaces, so we are being further disadvantaged
