Is your pet crazy?
So here I am getting a bottle of water out of the fridge so I can get my dog to drink some water.  He is a 13 year old lab who refuses to drink water out of a bowl.  This is mostly my husbands fault because he has always worried about how much water the dog drank and got him started on drinking out of bottles when they went anywhere.  Even a 10 min. trip to the store required a bottle of water.  Now the dog won't drink out of anything else.  So my question is do any of your pets have ideosyncrasies either caused by you or encouraged by you.

+5 thumbs up

My oldest cat like to drink from the faucat at the bathroom sink like it's a fountain.  She will "yell" at me to turn on the water and I put it to where it barely trickles and she will sit there for 10 minutes and drink.  She does drink from her bowl too.  She likes ice cubes too, thanks to my friend Jeremy (luciddreamer99).  When he comes over she gets back in the habit of an ice cube everytime he gets some, so then for a week after every time i open the freezer she comes in expecting ice on the floor.  I usually oblige her.

+2 thumbs upNot only will my dog not drink water out of his bowl but if you forget to wash his blankets once a week he won't sleep in his bed.  That one is probably my fault.

My dog is seriously nuerotic.  If you give her a stuffed toy with a sqeaker in it, she will tear it open, pull the stuffing out, pull out the squeaker, and play with the gutted shell.  She doesn't do it if the toy isn't stuffed, or there isn't a squeaker.

She will only sleep at night under the crib in our nursery.  When we took the crib down a few years ago, she slept where it had been.

I have 3 dogs, first is my Lab he is 75 lbs 6 year old and he is great, then the Pom who is 4 and also the most wonderful of pets, then here comes my Chihuahua.  He is a handful of energy, enthusiasm and so much love.  Here is the kicker, they can't go one single day without eating an orange, they only eat the meat and leave the peel, they also love lettuce, sweet peas, and carrots.  They will climb the chairs to get on the counter if the day gets late and they haven't had one.  The lab and Pom love the chihuahua, I don't think they will ever be happy if any two are left alone.

I have three pets - and they're ALL freaking insane. Yes, even the fish. Anyone whose ever spoken to me personally can vouch for this with any of my stories.

+4 thumbs upWhen I was in college (it was either 1998 or 1999) my girlfriend had two cats.  The one cat (Spaz...adequately named) would always sit on top of the console TV she had in her apartment and hang his head down when we watched Phillies games.  For some reason, whenever they played the Cardinals, he would always swat at the TV whenever Willie McGee was on the screen.  He hated Willie!!!

I have a big ol' fat cat named Ashley (but I call him butthead...he answers to it) that ALWAYS jumps into wherever I may be sitting as soon as I get up and REFUSES to move. I can sit on the damn cat with all of my weight and he WILL NOT MOVE!...Stupid butthead!!! I have to pick him up and move him myself. He also comes running whenever I open a slice of cheese. He loves the stuff.

My cat has this fear of me being in the bathroom with the door closed.  If I close the door, she scratches at the bottom of the door and meows till I let her in.  and she LOVES dryer sheets!!  When I do laundry and have it out to fold it, she'll dig in the laundry basket  or dig it out of the trash and chew it, roll on it and lick it.  Her name is peanut, she weighs bout 14 pounds, 2 years old and Rob calls her Pecker.  She answers to him too!!

My other cat (not the faucet drinker) is the same way about the closed bathroom door.  He hates to be on either side of the door and would rather it not be closed EVER!  Last time David was here- he was taking his shower and Caz was meowing like crazy and I though he was just crying cuz of the closed door and I kept calling to him "Come here, baby.  Whattsa matter baby?!" and finally I went to get him and saw his feet pacing the floor from inside the bathroom.  I opened the door a crack and he darted out to freedom.

I've seen that, alot of dogs are very protective over babies.
