MLB Season 2nd Half Top 10 Questions -- Part 10: Can the Mets Hold On This Time?

It's been a first half of ups and downs for the New York Mets, but they ended it on the upswing. They head into the second half riding a nine-game win streak and having whittled down the Phillies' lead in the East to a half-game. The pitching has been exceptional of late, and the bats are beginning to wake up. But can they keep it up?

+1 thumbs upIf the Phillies go out and get a solid #2 pitcher they will hold on and win the division. If they don't it's gonna go down to the wire like last year.

What do you mean hold on?  They aren't in first.  I'm confident they will hold on to second place.

Well we got Joe Blanton from the A's. He's better than Eaton, but that's not saying much. I think he will help the Phillies out.

Didn't say they were in first place.  The post reads they were a half game out at the break.  However, the last couple of years they have either been in first or right there close only to end the season in third or fourth with a double digit games back number.  Can they hold on I guess is referring to the top of the division.  Will they stay hot and actually be a contender in the division and/or the wild card, etc....
