I've got a very, very special day planned out for my wife, fiancee, girlfriend, lover, online hottie, pen pal.     This sucks, I guess I'll just be sending my mom some flowers.  What should I say on the card?

In all seriousness though, my mom is THE COOLEST!!!   She always put up with my crap, while at the same time not putting up with any of my crap.  She was always there for me, no matter what the situation.  She made it to every single game, or activity that I had going, if it was at all humanly possible.

Shout out to ya Mom, you rock!   Sorry I turned out so bad...

I'll start the day off with breakfast in bed for my wife, along with the presents.  Then I'll get the boys ready for church while she takes it easy.  After church, I'll be grilling some rib-eyes, with herb roasted potatoes, asparagus, green salad, and blueberry cheesecake for dessert.  Later that evening, over to my Mom's for cake and ice cream.  Back home, put the boys to bed early, and then...I've got something really special for her!

That's right, time alone with the Wii!

My dad is pretty sick right now so we'll just be going to my mom's house and hangin out.  We'll probably pick up some to-go from somewhere so that we're not messing up the kitchen (even if we clean it up, she still comes behind us to clean it up cuz she's anal like that). 

A)   On Saturday, we'll all be meeting at my brother-in-law's house where we guys will be putting together a meal for the three mom's.  We'll settle down after dinner for a couple games of "Rage" (great card game) that we all love.  It will be a real family night with three generations present...the ladies will love it!

B)   Sunday, my wife, son and I will go to church as a family; then we'll go out to dinner where my son and I will offer up home made cards(my wife loves those).  I'll offer the prayer over the meal and I've worked on that; it will be a prayer for the meal but more, it will be a prayer that honors my wife as my bride and as the mother to my son.

C)   On Monday, my wife and I will be celebrating our 24 Wedding Anniversary!  That is an amazing gift from God in these time of instant gratification.  He brought us together and he blesses us each day because we put Him first in our lives.  I think we'll do nothing more than just BE together, relax and talk about our years together; the great and the not so great and how God has shared His grace and mercy with us.  God is good; he has kept us together even though there were many reason we could have split apart!

My son actually got me flowers on his own, with his OWN money for the first time ever! This is the first year I got a card from them as well!!!!

My best mother's day was when my sons were 5 &6 and they dressed up in MIB suits, with the glasses and shoes, made a poster that said Happy Muthews day and they did a song and dance that made me laugh and cry. They took gravy and meatballs out of the freezer and told me that we were having lasgana, but I had to make it first! They said they would do the dishes, and we ate off paper plates ( they set the table!)

IT was the best!
