+4 thumbs up

Kinda funny, considering a number of those guys were listed on the NFL top 10...and you left of Ken Stabler, Steve Tasker, or Ray Guy.

The only one on the list that doesn't belong in the HOF is Watters.

+2 thumbs upRunning the wrong way for a safety is probably what's keeping Jim Marshall out of the Hall of Fame. He played for 20 years, which is a long time for a defensive player. He still has multiple NFL records that have yet to be broken.

+1 thumbs upBullet Bob Hayes should be in. He was the first game breaking WR. A gold medal in 1964 and a Super Bowl (VI) ring.

+2 thumbs upKenny will never make it in, and I am not sure he deserves to be in, but I LOVED him as a kid - my idol - loved to watch him play - there is something about watching a leftie throw the ball - he had an effortless pass, the smoothest release - of course he was probably tanked at the time but... yea - he was one sweet QB before being sweet was cool...

+1 thumbs upI know....a lot of the flak people give him was his rep, but his rep also gave them a swagger, that kept the silver and black in contention during the 70s. Just a shame they traded him before he could do it again.

+4 thumbs upRicky Watters shouldnt even be brought up in the conversation of the Hall of Fame!  Derrick Thomas should've been in there as soon as his chance was there.  Just goes to show you how much sports writers know!  I think the fans should be in charge of voting Hall of Fame inductees!!!!

They didn't need him once Plunkett (another player not yet inducted into the HoF) was in the picture.

Actually, for the sake of irony, Plunkett wasn't part of the picture, though.
When the trade went off, it was Stabler for Dan Pastorini, who became the starter for the Raiders.
Of course, two other pieces of the old guard left too, Dave Casper, and Jack Tatum.
But, as the history goes, about 3 or 4 games into the 1980 season, Dan went down with a leg injury, and in stepped Plunkett.
For good measure, Plunkett beat Stabler and the Oilers, in the first round of the playoffs, before going on to win the Super Bowl that year....and ya, Plunkett is another name that never gets the respect, because of all his picks....even though he was a great after 30 QB.
