I actually had not heard of any of this until very recently.

The Question is- Do you agree or disagree that this rule should be granfathered in or completely mandatory?

#1 \| 188 days ago Bmeister (+)	+2 Other--Not put in place at all. People in the dugout, maybe. After all, players on the bench are hit by batted balls much more often than base coaches. Coaches on the field? I think they should have the choice, but not be forced to, wear helmets. none of the above

#2 \| 188 days ago Pat (+)	+2 None of the above. This rule is ridiculous. Bowa is right to criticize it. It's a gross over-reaction to an isolated incident, which has only happened once in over a century. If coaches want to wear helmets, that's fine. But if they can't get out of the way in time, then maybe they don't belong on the field. none of the above

#6 \| 117 days ago EMKennedylucio (+)	A coach standing just feet from a first or third baseman has to wear a helmet while they keep their caps? Is a coach really at any more risk than the other fellas? none of the above

#7 \| 117 days ago janelle (+)	+1 This is absolutely ridiculous. I say, if a coach wants to put on a helmet, more power to him. If he doesn't, it's no one's decision but his! But, the players on the field don't have on helmets- they just have on their caps, until they're batting. And I know they have gloves on (to stop any comments about that! lol) but still. On the article, a guy kept commenting about how many places we'd really have to start wearing helmets if we all want to be safe. And I agree ... if you hit your head on your cupboard should you start wearing a helmet? There are starting to be just too many "rules" taking away people's rights and it's really starting to piss me off! none of the above
