Pq's sweet Pq's

I have seen alot of pq's since being in the locker room, but one tonight just amazed me, it was in ljheaths turbulence poll. And huskerfan was the recipient on this pq. So I think that since the Q is changing they should make the givers of the Pq's known! I mean if you give them give them proudly, stand by it put your avator next to it! But thats just me, I do not give them I either ignore the comment or say something, what do you guys think ? Should this be another change? (if this poll has already been done I apologize)

I will not be using the respect thing because what does respect have to do with locker room comments? Nothing. Do i give a respect because they made me fall out of my chair laughing? I think a lot of people us the button to express their opinion, which is especially helpful if it's anonymous. But it's not, and it's easy to figure out who did it, if you really want to. I don't care, and the post you're talking about I could pretty much guess who did it without sorting out the other 10 or so accolades. Like woody said, it'll be a thing of the past in a week or so... #4 \| 23 days ago VIOLET (+)	I think the label "Poor quality" is a little bit hard, because sometimes u just don´t like what it's posted but it doesn't mean that is a poor or bad comment, I can´t remember who suggested on previous polls that maybe a "Disagree" or "Didn't like" button would be better and the giver should be shown as another accolade. My humble opinion

This will greatly reduce everybody's accolades received. I'm used to handing out hundreds of accolades a day, so this will take some getting used to.

Q administration is thinking and implementing a "change' let us see it , feel it, then decide about the change.! After all it is democratic rule that governs the market. And there were times that they were good too, like when someone is posting curse words then the Q'ers can hide the comment and the mods, when they get there, can delete it. #34 \| 23 days ago hskrdave (+)	PQ's will be gone, because there have been many complaints about they were abused and not used the way they were intended. i made polls concerning the anonymity of them when they first came out, because then you couldn't see who was giving them to you. That only happened within the last 6 months with one of the site changes that it occured. The reason for limiting the number of thumbs to 10 is to try to make people think about giving them out for quality, instead of just giving them to everyone so everyone is getting them. Make people provide quality content to the site, just not content to the site. The best example that I can come up with is TOTD and DABS. I'm sure many of you give each of those poll a thumb, as have I on occassion. But it is an everyday poll, and I know what it is, so I will probably stop thumbing that one, and save it for original content, like jess's faniq jukebox poll or someone who asks for opinions like Leslie's turbulence poll. I agree, about the limit, I mean take away the PQ, and the bold but I think they should have left the smart or funny, there are times that I really like what people say and to put a limit on it per day is really not a great idea. I know they are doing what they think is right and what they think is good for the Q, it just kind of reminds me of a comment my boss made at a staff meeting when management comes up with their so called bright ideaswe were told that they were doing it for the members and the credit union and if we did not like it then theirs the door.. so I guess we have to pick and choose which of our fellow Q family comments we want to pick

Just because you disagree with someone's opinion doesn't mean that opinion was poor quality. If someone posted something truly inappropriate or abusive then that should be reported directly to a Mod. We shouldn't rely on PQ'ing it out. Frankly, if I see "This comment has been removed due to poor quality" I always click on "Show Anyway"... it's like watching a train wreck, you know? I'm curious to see just how "bad" it was. The respect thing is going to take getting used to. I understand the rationale, though. Accolades as they are now is often just a popularity. We all know how a dear departed member of the Locker Room, who I need not name, would get dozens of thumbs up for just a one-word comment. To his credit, he gave them out generously as well. But the fact remains that certain individuals get thumbs up on practically every comment they make, because they're well-known, whereas newer members can often write eloquent comments that get zero accolades, which doesn't encourage them to submit more quality comments. I think it's not a bad thing that you might have to make a choice between "respecting" a person who writes a thoughtful paragraph versus, say, a comment that's simply "Boobies." Because 10 is not enough and I do understand the thinking behind it, but some polls are silly polls where boobies is funny(sorry Bart) but the polls that make you think well then there will be more than 10 right there. And I have never said theres a newbie so I will ignore thier comment. As a matter of fact I think Mr. Rogers is a perfect example to the fact that that just doesn't happen. All this leveling the playing field for new people may be a little excessive.
