+5 thumbs upI read it but was going to give other answer figuring I was wrong.
I know it isn't your answer, but I disagre. Because the question reads which works best. The broken clock is right twice a day. But the other one works best because it is a lot more usefull. It might not be right . Just more usefull . Which I have to believe is best.

THIS IS THE ANSWER SO DONT READ IT : (SPOILER ALERT)
The one that doesn't work is best as it will always be correct twice a day, but the one that loses a minute a day will not be correct again for 720 days (losing 720 minutes or 12 hours).

+2 thumbs upI didn't read this, but I'm going to go with the clock that doesn't work, since you know that it will be correct twice a day. The other one, though... it won't be correct again for 720 days.

+1 thumbs upI gotta go with the broken clock, and while I stumbled over the spoiler scrolling down to the comment box, this would've been my guess anyway.

+1 thumbs upbroken clock, because it's right twice a day, the one going backwards might be right once...

If the answer is right there, I will, (like my students), read it and write it down.

+4 thumbs upIf it's a matter of which works best, the one that loses a minute a day still "works".  The other really doesn't even work at all.

okay okay, so we are all smart and got the same answer........oops, except forBob and Ryan who pointed out an obvious flaw in our thinking.....

+1 thumbs upThe question asks "which one works the best", not "which is exactly right more often".  In day one, the clock that loses a minute a day will be within one minute of the actual time.  On the second day, it will be within two minutes of the actual time, etc.  That is better than the clock that doesn't "work" at all.

+1 thumbs upUmm if the question is "Which one works best?", then the only possible answer is the one that loses a minute a day, because as stated, the other clock "doesn't work at all", therefore eliminating it from the nessesary qualifications needed
