+6 thumbs upThe Twins are 7th? Really?  They may not be an ideal franchise, but they're doing just fine.

+1 thumbs upHmmmmm. Fox sports seems to have one glaring omission.
Where is the #1 team? The team that defines futility? The team that is going for 100 years without.

You all know who I'm talking about.

They certainly have #1 correct.  I still go to a game from time to time, though.

+4 thumbs upThere was no way I could put the Pirates first in this poll, they are the best AAA team in baseball.

+2 thumbs upSomehow they're above .500 but they'll end up last in that division.  And they will be for years to come.  Still, based on past success, I dunno that they are top 10.

    +2 thumbs up1. Knicks  5. Orioles 7. SF Giants 8. Kings (NBA) 9. Islanders 10. Raiders

Both the Rays and Royals are on the verge of serious competition.  Lions are improving.  The Hawks just took the Celtics to 7 games, bad time to be trashing them.  Cardinals will be a lot better next year as well.

+3 thumbs upI saw this list.  And there is no way the Twins belong on that list.  They won 2 World Series' and a more recently a number of division titles!
Royals and Pirates are pathetic now, but they didn't used to be.  So they don't really belong either.

The Cubs certainly got missed.  They haven't even won a pennant since 1945.

I would also include the Winnipeg Jets/Phoenix Coyotes franchise.  A whole lotta nuthin' from them their entire existence.

#9 The Knicks only two titles for this team (last in 1973) this is not a model franchise

#10 My Los Angeles kings - This team has had moments, but it has not lasted. Oh it pains me to do put them on the list, but facts are facts and I hope that the Kings can start to pull there heads out. The one saving grace, even as bad as they Kings are they are still not the worst team at Staples. The Clippers have them lapped.

I think it's a list based on the current state of the team, which makes the Knicks absence even more puzzling.  Regardless of how bad you want to make fun of the Cubs not winning a pennant, they're still the best team in baseball.

I thought about that.  But look at the Twins...  1st place four out of the last 6 seasons.  That is pretty recent.  No way they belong on a worst franchise list.  Reading the article, it mostly is ragging on owners the writer deems to be "cheap".  Which doesn't preclude being a good team.  As the Twins have proved.

I disagree about the Cubs being the best team in baseball.  They are among the better teams right now, but it is still too early to anoint them the best.

The pitching staff is terrible, I guess I underrate that fact, but that lineup is unrivaled.

I can't put the Islanders inside the top ten.  Theyre not doing so good now but its only recently. They are still one of three teams (Canadiens twice) in NHL history to rack off 4 straight cup wins.

Again, pretty sure the article refers to the current state of the franchise.  The Royals and Pirates used to be two of the best teams in baseball, why did you list them?

Umm...  the Raiders were just in the Super Bowl in '02-'03, not even mentioning their previous Super Bowl and AFL Championship wins.

How in the world does 15 years equate for 130 years of history, most of which was good, then I guess the Pirates are the worst franchise in sports history.  But that logic is flawed beyond comprehension.  They don't belong on this list, and anyone who voted them #1 needs to look at the overall history of the team to realize their mistake.

Cue the balloons and confetti as this is the 1,000,000th time it's been mentioned, but the article is breaking down the current state of the 10 franchises.  They don't give two dicks about Honus Wagner and his tobacco trading cards.

I left them off my list using that same logic.

Then explain why the Twins are on the list.  One year removed from a string first place finishes!

...and why the Knicks AREN'T on it.  Both are inexplicable, it's just a horrible list.

Oh well, it's my team that's being torn apart, and I'm going to defend them.  So what's my prize?
