Travel-ology
Over the past week or so, I've discovered a few things about myself that if I'd been paying attention, I would have already known. I don't pay close attention to anything though, so this was all new to me. Fortunately my husband does, so I had a wonderful evening at a hotel the night before all the craziness began with the fam in Montana!

When you travel, what's most important to you....

1 - I like a comfy bed above all, it has to be clean, and most of the time it has to allow dogs. Those three things, and I don't really care. I don't need a kitchen. I don't mind paying a little extra for quality, and I can go elsewhere for breakfast.

2 - I can do fast, but I don't prefer it. I pack sammiches a lot, but sometimes I just want to go sit down and have someone serve me some fresh sweet tea and a hot meal. I should have answered "Combination" though, because I do like to try things that are specific to the area. It's how we planned both our cross-country trips, actually. Shaddup.

3 - I really don't even care, but probably car for economical and "being-on-my-own-schedule" reasons.

1. It has to be clean, not smell like smoke, and i prefer comfortable to the point where it's not that bed spread that looks like it was in a 1968 Howard Johnson.... you know the one. ugh.

2. If I'm traveling in a car, I don't stop for the night or anything, so snacks or we stop at subway then keep going. If I'm traveling and staying in a hotel, it's my vacation hotel and I usually just eat cheap. Take out or something. I definitely don't eat specific to the region stuff. Unless it's like....oranges.

3. If I can drive there, I will. I don't love to ride so much.

1. If I'm travelling home, it's a lengthy trip, but we always drive so we have a vehicle when we get there - I flew once and was at the beck and call of my mother, which is NOT an option.  So, we stay overnight and have a couple of motels we have tried and love.  It all depends on how far we drive the first day, but there are towns 4, 5 and 6 hours from home, meaning 10, 9 or 8 hours from destination.

2.  They all have pools, all are clean and have a fridge and coffee maker, and a restaurant with great food, AND a cold beer and wine store and fast food stops very close by.  The beds are comfie and the rooms are large.

3.  We tend to drive everywhere to have the vehicle when we get there.  I have flown in the past, and my son usually uses the bus when he is travelling.  I would love to take the kids on a train trip, as I went across Canada on the train and it was truly one of the very best experiences of my life.

Done quite a bit of travel.

1.  All I want is a clean room when traveling for work.  When traveling for me...  All I want is a clean room at a cheap price!

2.  When traveling I like to eat at places I can't eat at home.  If it is a chain, then I want it to be a chain that is not in my home area.

3.  Trains whenever I can!  It's slow but a billion times more comfortable than an airplane.  And none of the hassles found at airports.
