What I like best about his songs is that most of them tell a story!

It takes a true artist to do that!

+5 thumbs upThis was a tragic los of a great & unique artist. I love all his music, but "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown" is a "Chicago" favorite for me.

He was a great performer but an even better song writer. I like all his stuff, but I always liked 'Roller Derby Queen' the best. I mean what guy hasn't fallen in love while watching a bunch of women wearing spandex and roller skates catfighting?

I had a big problem choosing just one, I think he was a master song writer....

+5 thumbs upI enjoyed almost all of his songs but "Operator" just was one of my favorites!  My friends at College of DuPage had gottten me tickets for the concert that he was flying to when  he was killed...we lost a great talent with his passing!

+4 thumbs upJim Croce was a brilliant and talented musician. Every song he wrote, sang, performed was beautiful. I selected "Time in a Bottle" before realizing I could have selected "all the above." Thanks for including one of the greatest musicians in modern history.

+3 thumbs upJim Croce is without a doubt my favorite artist of all time.Truly a legend lost before his time.I picked "Operator" before I read all the choices. If I didn't I would have picked all the above.Croce never made a song I didn't like.

+1 thumbs upI chose Operator because the melody and the lyrics are combined masterfully.   I could have chosen "I'll have to say I love you in a song", but it's a bit of a chick song.   The same can be said of Operator, I guess.   Apparently I really am a sensative man of the new millineum (sp?) after all.

I had a professor at Villanove that had graduated from 'Nova with Jim Croce.  He said that Croce would sit around playing his guitar and singing at various places on campus.  He said it was pretty cool to sit and listen to him.

+1 thumbs upHis death was my education of death.  I argued with my mother that he couldn't be dead because I could still hear  him singing on the radio.  I love ALL his songs, but Time in a Bottle just reminded me of him and all he was.

+1 thumbs up   After his death I took out my guitar, which I played poorly-I was a drummer, and I learned about six or seven of his songs.  I really loved his music!!

Don't count on it; I was a drummer for years, I ran the sound board and managed bands as well as serving as the "bouncer" for the "wife/girlfriend" table(while at the soundboard.  I fiddled with the guitar but play it....lol, for fun only!
