What are the Top 10 Scariest Places to play in College Football? (Edited 10/08/07 12:19PM by Seth)
Read the Article: Bruce Feldman's list of the Top 10 Scariest Places to Play

Bruce Feldman came out with his list of the top 10 scariest places to play and I thought that would make for a great debate here. I tried to include as many stadiums as I could think of that are considered tough/scary places to play. If your school isn't on here then it probably shouldn't be.

+2 thumbs upI put the Orange Bowl as number one because it's the shadiest stadium I have ever been to.  It's number 1 in my stadiums to most likely be shot in poll.

+1 thumbs upYou obviously have never been to the LA Coliseum, a stadium directly in the heart of South Central LA, also known as Watts. When the Raiders played there in the 80s, even they were afraid to leave the stadium by themselves and a few of them were even carjacked. (The Raiders won their last Super Bowl when LA was their home)

Personally, I had fun in the Orange Bowl! I was there for a FSU/Miami "wide right" classic, and I enjoyed it, and felt safe when I left. Granted, Miami did win, and I was wearing UM attire which I borrowed from my friend that I went with. Although, if I had worn Orange and Blue, I probably would have only gotten some strange looks. Never wear Garnet and Gold!!!

It is going to be a shame when the Hurricanes leave the Orange Bowl!!!!

Beaver Stadium.  That white out is sure damn impressive.  The Big House and the 'Shoe def gotta be up there, 100,000+ screaming freaks.  And u might get shot coming outta a Trojans or 'Canes game, but u might get cornholed behind Mountineer Field.

+1 thumbs upIt is a little too scary for opposing teams to come to the Horseshoe and win, the last to do so was Texas in 2005 and that was the regular season game of the year by many fans standards!!!! The Big House is tough also, as long as you are not named Ohio State or Appalachian State, haha!!!

You forgot to mention Oregon, the team that dished out Michigan's worst home defeat in more than 40 years.

You are exactly right what was I thinking, Oregon dominated a run-down Michigan team though, because the Appalachian State game, but still true!

I've been to most of the SEC stadiums (not UGA or Arkansas), they're all pretty loud (okay not Vandy, it's definitly more of a sit back and have a latte kind of place).  I say Tiger Stadium is the loudest, but with one caveat: when LSU is down you can hear a pin drop in there.  Not great fans in my opinion.  Most other places i've been stay loud unless the game gets totally out of hand.

I remember when the Dolphins played in the Orange Bowl it could get pretty wild.  Miami doesn't get enough fans in the stands for most games to make it a tough place.  They get points for potential toughness.

I think a big thing with the stadiums though is the design of the stadium, not the capacity.  Places like the big house and Neyland stadium are very wide and not very steep and don't keep as much of the sound in.  Tiger stadium and the swamp are very steep and hold in a lot more of the noise.

No, never been there.  Ever been to Florida or LSU?

+1 thumbs upMemorial Stadium isn't at all intimidating???...Sure the Huskers are re-building, but a few years back they had one of the top streaks for home victories...The only way to get season tickets is to inherit them...history should get a few more points

History might get them some points but that defense just gives up way too many.

So a few off years can strip a stadium of it's prestige???...don't really think that is true or else Alabama wouldn't even care about football...When you step in and see nothing but that Husker red it's a beautiful sight, for the home team...The blackshirts only lost their entire front 4 with big play makers and you might have heard a few of them starting and competing for NFL Defensive rookie of the year...Nah, but it's good.  The here and now means that Kansas is the toughest place to play and then Mizzou...Does that sound right?
