+6 thumbs up There is a long version of "In The Air Tonight", and the begining is just so chillingly good it is unreal. I wanted to add the songs "Mama" & "Home By The Sea" but ran out of room. I really liked those songs too.

Where is this long version? Don't know if I've ever heard it before.

+3 thumbs upAnother hard one to choose!  I could just close my eyes and click.  If you ever do one on The Eagles, Madison, I'll be sitting on the poll forever trying to decide!

+1 thumbs upGroovy kind of Love.  It was a no brainer that Phil is an extraordinary drummer, so you go for the song where he comes away from his kit!

I like most of em.  My fav song when I was a kid was "Paradise" (at least I think that's the title).  Also a big fan of "Something Happened on the Way to Heaven".

+3 thumbs upIt's impossible for me to decide. Genesis is my favorite band, and I enjoy Phil's solo work a lot too. If I had to narrow it down:

Solo: In the Air Tonight, Take Me Home, Groovy Kind of Love, Another Day in Paradise, Against All Odds
Genesis: Follow You Follow Me, That's All, Turn It On Again, Man on the Corner, Taking It All Too Hard

Yeah, impossible, and yes, I know I'm a dork.

+1 thumbs upPatrick Bateman says:
I've been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. Before that, I really didn't understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual. It was on Duke where Phil Collins' presence became more apparent. I think Invisible Touch was the group's undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on intangibility. At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding three albums. Listen to the brilliant ensemble playing of Banks, Collins and Rutherford. You can practically hear every nuance of every instrument. In terms of lyrical craftsmanship, the sheer songwriting, this album hits a new peak of professionalism.
Take the lyrics to Land of Confusion. In this song, Phil Collins addresses the problems of abusive political authority. In Too Deep is the most moving pop song of the 1980s, about monogamy and commitment. The song is extremely uplifting. Their lyrics are as positive and affirmative as anything I've heard in rock.
Phil Collins' solo career seems to be more commercial and therefore more satisfying, in a narrower way. Especially songs like In the Air Tonight and Against All Odds. But I also think Phil Collins works best within the confines of the group, than as a solo artist, and I stress the word artist.

+1 thumbs upPhil Collins is a musical genius and I loved his work with Genesis and his solo work.I don't know if I could even pick a favorite.......but Home By The Sea,Follow You,Follow Me and Jesus He Knows Me are some of my favorites.........his work on the Disney movie Tarzan was outstanding as well. The drums in some of the pieces on that soundtrack were extraordinary.
