+3 thumbs upI just dont think he goes to Vancouver.  Who sits there and thinks about taken a $20 million contract over two years to be the highest paid player in the world?  I think he fits better in Montreal for some reason.

+5 thumbs up He will go to Montreal, which if he does will make them a real contender for the cup, but sometimes these free agents don't do that great either. Brian campbell did really nothing to help The Sharks in last season's Playoff's..maybe thats why San Jose didn't put up a ton of cash for him to stay.

+3 thumbs upI have a horrible feeling that the Rangers will use the rest of their $8M cap space or whatever to try and sign Sundin

+4 thumbs upI have nothing to back my choice except that I was actually talking about this with a friend at work today, for whatever reason he and I have the gut feeling he's staying in Sweden....it'll be interesting to see where he really ends up.

+4 thumbs upI am not sure that he will leave Toronto? He turned down the 4 offers yesterday and said he wanted to think some more about moving on. He likes working with the younger players and if he stays in Toronto he will get to do just that. It would be good if he does go, I just wish Macabe would get on the train out.

what about AVERY? the fact that AVERY is not in New York?  That AVERY is now in Dallas.  I'm sorry that AVERY is no longer a ranger.  Oh well, I'm sure AVERY did what was best for him.

+4 thumbs upYou'd love him if he was on your team. I'm glad he's in the West so we only have to play him once a year

+4 thumbs upmaybe, maybe not.  i didnt like deion sanders when he played for the redskins or the braves.  i wouldn't like barry  bonds if he blasted 60 home runs for the braves, i dont want beruzzi on the canes, things like that.

Hater.  Better salary cap management.

Look he may just end up in Vancuver.  He had his shot to go to the Wings.  They wanted him in a trade.  could have raised the cup.  but no he wanted to stay put.  Now in free agency, he either wanted too much or Hossa blinked first.

Yeah, the West is out of the question. That leaves TOR, MON and maybe NYR in the running. Although the Canadian cities are probably his first choice.

Mats isn't like most NHLers, he's more worried about his legacy in Toronto than anything and has enough cash to snub his nose at 20 million bucks.

Hopefully he'll sign on with MON and the Leafs will just tank. The Leafs couold have actually had a shot at a lottery pick last year (STamkos, Doughty etc) if Mats and Toskala didn't stand on their heads. The Leafs need another Franchise palyer and John Tavares looks like he could be that guy.

+2 thumbs upNo way the Rangers sign him- they are running out of cap room (I think they have around $5 or $6M left). Plus the only reason he was CONSIDERED to come to NY was to play with Jagr, but he won't be returning. I would like to see him re-sign with Toronto, and if he doesn't want to do that, leave for Sweeden- it just doesn't feel right seeing him in a different uniform
