+8 thumbs up"Pride Of The Yankees" !!!! Where is that ? Can there be a Better Speech from a greater or more heroic athlete than Lou Gehrig, and a great actor like Gary Cooper portraying him ? I doubt it. As far as more modern Sports movies, "The Natural"...."Today I wouldn't Bet Against Me"

Rocky was just a great movie to see in the theater for the first time. Lot of good movies there, but people stood up and cheered at the end of Rocky.

Are you kiddin me???  The sports quote of the century from Mr. Crash Davis.....

"I believe in the soul ... the small of a woman's back, the hanging curveball, high fiber, good scotch, that the novels of Susan Sontag are self-indulgent, overrated crap. I believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve, and I believe in long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last three days."

I can't pick one. My favorites are:

For Drama - The Natural, Rocky, Rudy, Pride of the Yankees and Hoosiers.

For Comedy - The ORIGINAL Longest Yard, Slapshot, Major League I, Caddyshack and Necessary Roughness (not including Dodgeball and Back to School because they are not really sports movies).

For Guilty Pleasures - The Cutting Edge, Mighty Ducks and The Greatest Game Ever Played.

Our coaches took us to see Rudy after we had recently won our Championship.  Probably, b/c we initiated it, but regardless, the entire movie theater was chanting, "Rudy! Rudy! Rudy!"  Never been to a movie when that happened.

How can you vote against the most meaningful event in sports in the 20th century, 1980 Olympics hockey gold medal.

That changed the course of a nation, perhaps 2
