Canada already has their own football league.  Why do you think the NFL doesn't have any teams there?

+4 thumbs upNo NFL teams. There are plenty of cities in the USA.  HELLO.  Los Angeles.

+3 thumbs upHow about the Yankees and Red Sox, then maybe we won't be bombarded with all this rivalry B.S. 24/7.

+3 thumbs upThe Bills are practically there anyway.

Don't get the the issue with putting a team in Toronto, especially one that is so close to start with.  Its only one team, and its Canada's biggest city.

+1 thumbs upOf these teams I had to choose the Saints.  Vikes are where they belong as are the Bills, and Jags jus got there a few years back.  The Saints are just out of place.  It's the wrong mascot for a team in New Orleans.  Not to say that the people there "aren't" saints or religious ... I jus think they deserve a new team with a new mascot, and a better image that encompasses the culture there.  They need something more "jazzy" I reckon.

Though I gotta say that the Saints aren't the 1st team I'd opt to move, out of all the teams in the entire NFL.

Well I'd say Arizona before anyone... that franchise is terrible

I'd really rather an expansion team go there, though I'm not sure that could work.

+1 thumbs upIf a team does go, Id say Arizona.  But football is American so no team should go to Canada.  I think that should go for MLB and NBA too

+1 thumbs upDude, give the people of New Orleans a break. The city is still a mess from the hurricane, people lost their homes and jobs, you have to give them something to live/cheer for.

You misread what I wrote.

I think of the teams mentioned the Saints (the mascot and name) are less ideologically linked to the area than the other teams ... because I think the culture there is unlike the other areas.  I don't think their team should be taken from them, I think they deserve a new team that embraces the culture .......................... again, of the teams mentioned, since the individual who made this only selected a few teams.

Being from up north I would only expect some kind of a response like that, since the whole hurricane was more foreign to you.  I live in Houston ... we were hit ... not as bad, but hit ... and for several days many of us had no idea if our hometown was in shambles like theirs.  I went to college with many people who were relocated to our colleges and 'expected' to catch up and fit in with the different styles of teaching here, and as the leader of Student Government I had to spend countless hours trying to help them adjust ........ especially this cool dude in my Trig class who only had a suitcase left of all of his personal belongings.

I say that for one reason: no, I don't think anything more should be taken from them.  I think a team that hasn't really been much of an identity for them should be moved and a newer team introduced to the NFL ... and unlike the "Houston Texans" ... they out to be given a name that's more original and befitting of such a place.  They're the heart of Jazz!!  How in the heck is it the only team in professional sports with a name that reflects that reside in Utah?????

That's all I'm sayin.

You are right. The news barely covered that story up here in the North.

I say no team should be moved out of their city. Most of those teams have a solid fan base and really should not lose their franchise.

+1 thumbs upIs it that big of a deal? Expansion to non-American cities, especially one as close as Toronto, isn't a bad thing at all.

i know. i mean, its not a horrible thing that there are Canadian teams in the NBA, MLB and NHL. but, i think it would also be cool if the USA had a popular sport that is only American. i mean, i wont really care if a Canadian team comes into the NFL, i just think it would be nice to keep the leagues in the USA

the Canadians have a hard time keeping up with the market value of other pro teams.  that is why some teams have had to leave.  with the payroll that a NFL team has it will be very hard to make it up there.  the other thing is it will put an odd number of teams in the NFL.  most of NFL teams are happy where they are.  just about all of them have new fields.

+1 thumbs upI'm surprised there's any interest in this idea in the US. It is only Misguided Torontonians who want an NFL team in Canada. The rest of the country understands that it would mean almost certain death to the CFL. The Cfl is a league with long history and deep roots. It is not even in the interest of the NFL if they would look at it truthfully. The CFL has great value to the NFL as a developmental league especially with the collapse of NFL Europe

Like the city knew the saints were there before Katrina. That argument is tired.

Its american football not canadian football. why would they consider moving a team to Toronto? Why dont we just have an NFL team in Mexico City, Mexico and Paris, France.

+2 thumbs upI've heard that Mexico City is a possibility, but I think there are safety issues there. And Paris is just a ridiculous option, because it simply wouldn't be affordable.

Why do people make such a big deal about an NFL team in Canada, even though the MLB, NBA and NHL already have teams there?
