Who is the best Dodgers pitcher of all time?
When the Dodgers moved to Los Angeles 50 years ago, they brought with them a rich tradition of starting pitching. First it was Sandy Koufax and Don Drysdale, then it was Orel Hershiser and Fernando Valenzuela. In between, there were names like Don Sutton, Johnny Podres and Tommy John.
Starting pitching has long been a hallmark of the Dodgers organization and continues to be the strength of the team as it enters the 2008 season. .

Below is a list of 8 candidates . The rest is up to you, the fans, who have watched and cheered for your favorite Dodgers over the years:

+4 thumbs up"IF" the Dodgers would have kept Pedro Martinez then it would more than likely have been Pedro but Koufax takes the nod here. Fernando mania had a few good years but nothing like Koufax and the "Bulldog" had the same fate a couple good years and then faded.

+2 thumbs upI'd have to go with Koufax, though he didn't pitch all that long. Drysdale & Newcombe would follow.

+2 thumbs upby the way Podres wasn't really "in between" he pitched in Brooklyn, and oh yeah won a world series MVP in 1955, making that the only title the Dodgers had in New York (other than "Bums")

+2 thumbs upoff topic, but the Pedro comment reminded me of another pair of brothers the dodgers had (they kept Ramon Martinez, pete's brother) Anyone remember Wilton Guerrero? His brother is Vlad, currently with the angels, heard of him? Vlad started out with the dodgers too.

+3 thumbs upWith his run of six seasons where he was pretty much unbeatable ('61 thru '66) not to mention pitching a perfect game against the Cubs in '65, Sandy Koufax is my opinion, hands down the best pitcher the Brooklyn or Los Angeles Dodgers ever had.

THINK BLUE WEEK CONTINUES!!!

Cheers!!!

+3 thumbs upTommy John may have had a surgery named afrter him, and Don Drysdale may have been Greg Brady's idol, but for my money.....

Sandy Koufax was the all time best Dodger's pitcher.
