He showed up night in and night out, put is body on the line was true team player...how many players would alter their playing style for the benefit of the team to become a more defensive player when have the offensive skills he had. He was the "man". Even though I chose Howe, which is purely on stats, Yzerman will most like be known as the best captain ever in the NHL if not already Gordie Howe

If he is a better hockey player then Steve Yzerman, then he was obviously a better Red Wing. Duh. Gordie Howe

Should be year by year cause man they do get old and don't play well every year... so ya i change who i think can be a good player for the team as they play durin the current time they are playin. ya howe was good, and messier but if they can't keep up the game then like other players. they become the ones that were good. lol thats what i have to share :P Steve Yzerman
