Isn't Harden under the Cubs control for one more year?

The Rays need to resign Carl Crawford.  If that guy played in a big market, he'd be a household name.  Granted, he is playing kinda crappy right now, but I'm sure he'll turn it around.

+4 thumbs upThe players listed came from this site, and included players with options for 2009. Harden has a $7M club option, so it's safe to say that he probably won't be going anywhere. Good call. That was my bad for not digging deeper and weeding out players who probably won't be available. Crawford also has a club option for $10M, so I'd say he's staying for one more year, too.

+2 thumbs upHarden is signed thru 2009, which is why to me the Cubs got the better deal compared to the Brewers and Sabathia.  Even if Dempster goes elsewhere next year, the Cubs still have a 1-2 punch of Zambrano and Harden.  The Brewers could very easily lose BOTH Sabathia and Sheets in 2009.

+1 thumbs upI'd be stunned if we don't lose both, but I'm okay with that (or rather, comfortable with that).  We've built our farm system with only a few top picks each year, so I'm excited to see what we can do with a boatload of top picks.

+1 thumbs upI think Manny is the best OF available, but if a club is looking for a long-term outfielder, I'd have to go with Carl Crawford.

Furcal can still add spark to a team (besides, doesn't his birth certificate say he's only 22?)

I also like Varitek, though not a BOS fan.  Catchers make good captains.
