Who or what has significantly influenced, positively shaped and changed your life? (Edited 08/28/08 08:26PM by tpowell25)
Our life is like the seasons of nature: spring bringing life, growth in the summer, a fall harvest and dormancy in the winter. In each of these seasons our life can be fulfilling as well as full of hardships, heartache and grief.

The biirth of my children really settled me down and made me look at what is really important in life. It sometimes the little thing in life, that we sometimes take for granted, that have the most profound affect on ones life.

+4 thumbs upHaving GREAT FRIENDS who keep one "grounded" in the most HECTICALLY EVENTFUL times of one's life are truly the KEYS TO HAPPINESS and SUCCESS in my book !!!  NEVER EVER FORGET YOUR ROOTS or WHERE YOU STARTED !!!!  Bud24's right in that "it's sometimes the little things in life that we "most always" take for granted - and that these are the things that usually have the most profound affect on one's life"  !!!!!

+6 thumbs upI think it is not so much the person or event, but how we choose to react to it.  2 people can have the same experience, and one turns it to a positive, and it lifts them up, and the other person dwells on it, and it drags them down.  For example, 2 years ago, I was in an accident at work that nearly killed me.  I was lucky (blessed) to be alive, much less able to walk 2 weeks later.  I chose to see the miracle of being healed, rather than dwell on things that changed for me.  I'm closer to my Lord, to my family, and more greatful.  One of the other guys involved (who was not hurt) has let it tear his life apart.  He left his wife, is struggling with his Faith, and has become very pessimistic.
It really comes down to what you choose to focus on.

+3 thumbs upI'm gonna go ahead and go with nobody. Obviously my family, particularly my parents, have shaped me into who I am, but nobody has really had such an effect on me to completely change my view on life

+4 thumbs up1.  My Husband, Jay.  For giving my soul the family roots I've always wanted, for giving my heart wings, and for being so damn good lookin'.
2.  My sons, Sam and Aaron.  For showing me unconditional love; even Aaron in his own special way.
3.  My sister, Cyndi.  For being the bestest friend I will ever have.
4.  My Grandfather, Max, and Grandmother, Julie aka "Mawgan"  For taking me in when nobody else wanted me.
5.  My dad, Steve.  For doing what was best for me even though it was difficult for him.  For loving me no matter what I did wrong.  For being there whenever I need to talk to him.
6.  My Nascar family, all of you.  For sharing your laughter, your tears, your wisdom, and your shoulder whenever I need it.  For giving me the opportunity to be your friend.
