He threw for 555 yards. How much more can you ask of him? He can't play defense...

+1 thumbs up   I pick Louisville and Brian Brohm by default, mainly because they will be one of the best teams this year.  Brohm passed for 3049 yds, was 16/9 TD to INT ratio, and had a completion percentage of 63%  He still has the top WR tandem in football with Urrutia and Douglas and they both combined for over 2200 recieving yds and 12 TDs.  The offense was ranked 2nd in the nation last year and there is not reason to think any different this year.  You forget too that he missed two games last year as well.  So his numbers could be much better now than what his stats show.  I think he has a great shot to be the #1 QB taken in the draft next year and if he and coach Kragthorpe click like many people believe they will, he has a great shot at a Heisman.  Just need to be aware or Ray Rice, Mike Hart, Darren McFadden, and Colt McCoy this year as well.

Colt Brennan re-wrote the record books last year at the QB position, and many people are saying that Hawaii could be this year's Boise State. Hopefully, he gets the recognition he deserves this time around.

There are a few other prospects starting with Chad Henne of Michigan. Other candidates tend to step up as the season progresses and you just never know where they may come from. WR Adarius Bowman of Oklahoma State, QB Chase Daniel of Missouri, RB Chauncy Washington of USC, QB Nate Longshore of Cal, and any number of athletes that may step up at schools like Oklahoma, Texas, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Florida, LSU. The QB from Kentucky, I forget his name but have heard a lot about him, RB James Davis of Clemson. With so many others out there, I like my chances with that option.

+4 thumbs upDon't expect a system quarterback, who faces little serious competition to win the award. And if anyone remembers that he was convicted of first-degree criminal trespass and second-degree burglary, that won't help his chances either. But he will put up the numbers, that's for sure.

Ever heard of Ty Detmer? How about Andre Ware? They both won the heisman and played in similar offensive systems as Colt Brennan. They also faced little serious competition.

+4 thumbs upYessir, I have heard of both of them.  Those are two great examples from a different era in college football.  Take a look at the last 16 Heisman winners and show me the players who came from schools outside of the BCS conferences...

I think that after what Boise State achieved last year and Utah in 2004 that some of these mid-major teams from the west have earned just a little bit more respect than what they once had. I'm not going to predict he wins, but if he has another year like last year and they go undefeated in the regular season, he should at least get to take the trip. I think Alex Smith made the trip didn't he?
