+4 thumbs upI went with all of the 1984 guys because they actually won the World Series.  I know guys like Mags and Pudge are better than the "other" guys at those positions but obviously they(the '84 Tigers) had the chemistry and talent to win it all in '84.

I know... I'm a buzzkill.

well the poll didn't turn out exactly how i wanted it to, but you get the general idea.....I certainly don' think Craig Monroe is the greatest Tiger on the list.....lol

+2 thumbs upI am not a Tiger's fan, although I think they are heading back in the right direction after their bad start. I think that if they pick up Hank Greenberg & Charlie Gehringer they will be World Champs !!!!!

+3 thumbs upI'd drop both LF's and keep Gibson AND Magglio. That's a no-brainer.

I put them in their position order with the exception of Inge. I picked him since he is a utility though.

+1 thumbs upNot a buzzkill, I simply look at the facts. The 1984 Tigers won the World Series, the 2006 didn't. End of story.

+1 thumbs upMan, see this is why I dislike polls like this. It give morons too many options and they get confused.  Granderson is the Centerfielder and leadoff man. Sweet Lou bats 2nd. Tramm is 3rd . Darrell Evans at 1st batting cleanup. You drop the rest of those scrub outfielders and start Maggs and Gibby. Herndon? Monroe? Lemon? ok. Anyways back to the Lineup Maggs batts 5th and plays right. DROP INGE and play Tram at short, Guillen at 3rd. Hello? Guillen at 3rd batting 6th. I love Pudge but you gotta go with Parrish in 84, catching and batting 7th. Gibby in left batting 8th, unless you'd rather have Monroe, Herndon, etc. The rotation from 06 is much better than 84. Ane how can you not pick Sparky to manage the bunch. I'll miss Leylands chain smoking and mumbling at press conferences, but we'll make em a bench coach. There it its folks. Feel free to bash. Im out.

I arranged my list as would I have the starting lineup were I in charge of a combined '84/'96 team (although I'm fairly certain that I would pinch hit for Sparky ).
