+33 thumbs upWTF is the " Homosexual Movement"?? Dude, maybe you have been living under a rock, but homosexuals have been around since the beginning of time- there is no "movement" going on. If you are referring to a human beings rights to co-exist with other human beings- maybe you can call that a "movement". The Constitution of the United States of America covers ALL AMERICANS- not just people who think that other lifestyles are wrong because it isn't their own lifestyle. It seems that alot of people need to hate others just to feel good about themselves. From prejudices towards Blacks, to Women, to Religions, to Homosexuals( the new flavor of bigotry of the month), it just sickens me to listen to it. We are ALL AMERICANS and ALL AMERICANS should be able to live their lives as they see fit without the ignorance that is towards them. "Families" come in all shapes and sizes !!!

+9 thumbs upHmmm...maybe because the "movement," whatever that is, is a source of revenue, and usually beats the bad pub that would come from overt bigotry. Plus, discrimination is illegal. Those are just the practical reasons.

Oh, and how exactly are "family friendly" and homosexuality mutually exclusive?

+5 thumbs upI agree with vindog about the Constitution and everything, but it is the right of the individual business owner to serve whom they want.  If you find that family business are catering to the "homosexual movement" then that's what they've chosen to do for whatever reason.  You have two choices...continue frequenting the establishment, or find another one that better fits your values.  I do, however, think that everyone (homosexuals and heterosexuals) should keep their personal business just that.  I don't need to here about sexual exploits while I'm trying to do my job...don't need to see it in the streets on parade, etc.

+11 thumbs upThat's another thing. How would anyone know if that businesses patrons are gay? People don't go around when they're shopping for groceries going "Hi, I'm gay."

Let's just cut to the chase...By "family friendly" are you referring to "Christian"? I guess I need a scenario outlined because the question is a bit vague.

+4 thumbs upOf course that is what he meant!!! I didn't want to get into the "Christian Argument", because I feel it's unnecessary to discuss. And I didn't know that a Homosexual couldn't be a "Christian" and was forbidden to enter a "family- friendly business", but some religious weirdo's actually believe that!

Yup...I know and I hesitate to get going on this mess again. Did the verdict ever come in re: "Should a man wear PINK?" ~ Oh, yeah...I guess if they do that means they are gay.

I do not have an answer to this particular question; but I do have to say, they (family-friendly business) are possibly involved in the homosexual movement, possibly...to share the love and grace of Jesus Christ (not religion).  How are we going to minister to the homosexual, if we show hate or something else, that is not of Almighty God and His precious Son Jesus.

The Bible says to, "love your neighbor, as yourself."  If we do not show or share the love and grace of Jesus to the homosexual...we will miss out, on trying to show them, there is a better way of life, especially, receiving Almighty God's free gift of Eternal life.

The message here that I appreciate is (my paraphrase) ~ How can anyone know the love of God if Christians shelter themselves from the reality of what is? And shunning people is no way to show that love.

+6 thumbs upThis is about the second or third question involving the same issue. Perhaps it's time to move on.

I'm not checking an answer cause there isn't a suitable one for me to choose.  First, are people wearing "Ping G's" to indicate their loyalty to the Gay Community...if so, rather than ban them from my attention I would befriend them and show them my faith by being a good person to them.  I would open my store to them, I wouldn't decry any "type" of people:  black, Iraqi, and so forth.

Check your story about the woman at the well!  Christ took the disciples WAY out of the way to go through Samaria to be in that city...he not only spoke to a woman(unheard of) but the woman was a known protitue who had had five wives and was living in sin with another man.  YET, Christ shared with her the wonders of faith and let her to a new eternal life.

Who in God's great world are we to deny anyone the right to be anywhere!  The right wing Christians are truly missing the point of Christ...and I'm a fairly conservative Christian!

THAT is an excellent observation - because this was a totally loaded question - you can tell that by looking at the choice of responses.  Where was the choices "because people are people", or "because it makes them true Christians".

You know, there are tons of gay men and women in this world who are absolutly crazy about sports - and I bet there are alot of us that belong to this site - I hope the author of this question knows the number of people they have offended with this question - my guess is it is a lot more than they think!

The last time I checked, I knew more gay people who were concerned about, cared for and took care of their family AND their "family" then many of the hetrosexual people I know.

+8 thumbs upWow!  This question is really lopsided with the answers... there should at least be one answer that says family-friendly businesses recognize that families come in all forms, religions, races, sexuality, etc.  or something to that effect.  If the person who wrote this question had the guts to write that kind of answer down then he would have surprisingly noticed that it would have probably been the answer most people would have chosen.  He must be afraid of the results as much as he is obviously afraid of homosexuals.  What is up with all these questions lately anyways?  This is so ridiculous, I don't even know where to start.  Even if you are against homosexual lifestyles who are you to judge people and the way they live.  Some people say what about the children and the influences on them.  That's also ridiculous, the only thing being a bigot to others will do is make your children who may end up being gay feel bad about themselves, unworthy of your love, and could end up becoming suicidal or remove their parents from their lives completely.  I sure hope you don't spread your bigotry to your children.  Last time, I checked according to The Bible, if that is what you are going on, we are all sinful in one way or another.  Also, in The Bible, God forgives murderers, thieves, and rapists.  So why are you dwelling so much on someone's sexuality as being unfamily-friendly?  I'm actually sure that there are probably homosexuals in every family, if there aren't in your family then maybe they are just hiding it because of your obvious attitude against it.  I just hope someday you wake up and realize that Christianity is about love, acceptance of others, and forgiveness.  If you dwell too much on homosexuals parading down the streets then you are just creating a growing hatred, which is the opposite of Christianity.

+13 thumbs upI just want to ask again, what is the "homosexual movement"?
Are you honestly worried that they are out there actively trying to recruit you?
Do you think they are going door to door with little pamphlets and asking for donations?
Do you think they are out there mocking and putting down your way of life to change you?
Trying to change the Constitution of the United States to make your straight marriage illegal?
Invading your home and under pain of torture, make you renounce your straightness and become gay?
Invading entire countries and murdering millions to convert them to gayness?
Yeah, and if you haven't guessed by now, the above examples were all done by "christians"

+6 thumbs upI checked "No Opinion" because all of the other choices were terrible.  Don't gay people deserve a meal at a restaurant?  Or a night at the movies?  It is very sad to me that FANATICAL "chrisitians" give the rest of us (I am Catholic) a bad name.  I may not agree with the gay lifestyle or want it taught to my children in school, but I certainly feel they should have the same basic rights as others.  I am sure that Jesus would not throw them out of Denny's if they were looking to grab a late night meal!
