+1 thumbs updoesn't seem to me he belongs, and wait until this current crop of 2B's retires (Uggla, Utley, Kinsler, Pedroia, Cano, Cabrera, Hendrick), their numbers should make his look like he played second in the 70's.  These guys are the new wave of offensive 2B, much like Ripken, A rod, Jeter, and Nomar were for SS.  Any omissions are unitended and are indicative of the writer being on his first cup of coffee.

+2 thumbs upYes I see the greatest power hitting 2B getting into the hall of fame.

Unfortunately there's a good chance that Kent could go into the hall as a Giants.

+1 thumbs upWhy "unfortunately"?  He produced far beyond expectations from the day he came to the Giants.  He played with the Giants longer than any other team.

+1 thumbs upHe is statistically the best run producing second baseman in major league history and an absolute lock to get into Cooperstown one day.

You can say whatever you want about Jeff Kent, but theres a competitive oldschool throwback type player with some real fire in his belly.Sabean made a mistake by letting him go.

+1 thumbs upI don't think Kent really wanted to stay on the Giants anyway.  The only way he stays would be if the Giants overpaid him.  Which would have been stupid.

Kent's been a solid player for a lot of years but there is no way he's a HOFer.

+1 thumbs upNo way IMO. I think he is one of those guys that is a very good MLB player, but very good shouldn't get you into the HOF.
