I disagree...I think the ONLY way they get in is if Shockey is on the field.  They do need him to just shut his mouth and play...but they need him, nonetheless.

Isn't that the problem? He just won't shut up. Think Eli played his best match without Shockey, and that he just  can't (yet)handle players like him.

Wait I feel a knew poll coming up!

+3 thumbs upI wish they would, but it will be a very hard fight for them.
I dont see them winning division, so they better work hard for that WILD-CARD spot again.
but that is just me

What was it Boss that stepped in?
I thought he was pretty good too, not to be a starter.
I like Shockey too though, tough guy, he is a sure +!!

+2 thumbs upI dont think all the stars will ever line up for the Giants the way they did last year! I mean to get there on talent is one thing ,but to to be that lucky is just mind boggling. Just think all season the team chemistry just wasnt there, it looked like they were playing like it was a job and not something they loved. All of the sudden they looked up after all the luck and breaks one team could possibly get and tought they had a chance. The desperation pass in the final drive of the Super Bowl was the Giants season wrapped up in one hail mary, how many plays like that ever work, not even counting the Super Bowl. Good luck this coming season to the Giants, but I think they used it all up last season!

+2 thumbs upthe gints got on once in a lifetime roll,a magical ride that might not happen again, who's the real eli,the int boy or the one who pulled it out of his ass.i'm bettin' on int boy.shockey is an over-rated loser, gee, look at me,i've got tats and and i'm supposed to be a real bad guy.he hasn't done a thing in the nfl since the suits at the networks wanted to make him a star.the bos anyone.i wish them luck, they deserved the title.they'll be sayin' i'm goin' to disney in dec n

+1 thumbs up

They get rid of Shockey, and that is a good thing.  Boss turns out to almost as good and isn't a distraction which is great!

The Giants make the playoff but that is all you can say...one and done!

+1 thumbs upTO THINK BOSS WAS THAT GOOD, WITH OUT PRACTICE ALL YEAR.
IMAGINE WHEN HE HITS HIS STRIDE.
HE CAN BE AS GOOD OR BETTER THAN SHOCKEY, WHICH TO ME, IS GOOD!!
CAN THE GIANTS USE THEM BOTH EFFECTIVELY?
WE MAY SEE.

+1 thumbs upI cant see picking Redskins or Eagles over them for the spot but, there will be some team NO ONE expected to make it, that may snag it from them.  I was so proud of them last year (except that last game VS cowboys).   I just cant see them being  "CINDERELLA" AGAIN!

+1 thumbs upI think if they do make it, it'll be pretty lucky that they did. With that almighty Shockey around, the team could just fall apart like T.O. did to the Eagles a few years back. Shockey's a crybaby. Always complaining about something.

I don't know too many teams that would want Boss over Shockey...Shockey will play somewhere and as far as him shutting his mouth-  Do all good pass catchers shut up?

+1 thumbs upBut it's not like they were a dominant team.  They got in as a wild card team.  I think that is a lot different than going in as a division winner, especially in a division like the NFC East.

+1 thumbs upI dont think they are good enough to repeat. They do not need shockey because thats already been proven, Cinderella yes! Boss yes, and to win the Super Bowl you have to be good and lucky at the same time. They were lucky according to the numbers on PAPER, comparing to the patriots. But they played their nuts off!

there defense took  key losses with Strahan and Mitchell leaving and their offense if having problems with running back issues and Shockey wanting out and Burress wanting new contract.

What running back issues would those be, o knowledgeable one? What Burress issues? Burress has already stated that he will report to training camp on time and ready to play. The contract thing will be hammered out behind closed doors and will affect nothing. Now the funniest and least knowledgeable part of that comment is the Shockey thing....The Giants want Shockey gone, not the other way around.

+2 thumbs upLet's see...you have virtually the same team that won the SUPER BOWL last season

+1 thumbs upShockey wanted out before last year started and they were tempted to trade him. The Bradshaw problem getting arrested and the Jacobs trying to heal to get back to top form. Burress yes will report but he is still wanting money from the Giants

Yeah, the same team that Barely Made it!
I like the Giants, and Hope the best for Eli, he went to school here.
I just cant see it.
They better learn how to beat the Cowboys in the regular season if they want PLAY-OFFS.
Giants really turned it on last few games, I dont see them having that much luck this season.

+1 thumbs upMaybe it's b/c I'm a Giants fan, but the way the ended the season was not a fluke.  That's the team they always should have been and finally got it together.  They've made comparison's to the Steelers when they won a couple years ago, but this more reminds me of the '01 Patriots.  I think this is the start of something big.

+2 thumbs upIt doesn't matter how you get into the dance, just how you perform once you've gained admission.

Luck?? Are you kidding? Did you even watch any Giants games? You meant to say that ELI turned in on in the last few games. The rest of the team was moving right along pretty well. Especially the defense.

He is an employee of their corporation. Of course he wants money. He ain't going to play for free.

I thought maybe you had some actual running back issues. Didn't think that you would copy the back page of the National Enquirer. Kids these days. Jacobs healing is hardly an issue. In case you haven't notice they have plenty of backs capable of filling in for him.

Jacobs isnt fine he has been in training and recovery for his injury since the super bowl started. Shockey was getting paid money he just wants more bc he thinks he is worth and quite franklly it would be best for the Giants just to give him some offers.

+1 thumbs upI never said that Jacobs was fine. At least learn how to read before you come talk to me. And no it would NOT be a good idea to give Shockey an offer. It would be a good idea to cut him and just pay him what he is owed. Wellington Mara never would have put up with this garbage.
