Worst Chokejob?
Both teams with a comfortable September division lead (Or so we thought) and neither made the playoffs.

My Tigers choke job was pretty terrible, but they were not expected to be good from the start of the season, you could argue more of a "coming back to earth" than just choking...but they did choke.  The Mets choke was much more amazing.

The Phillies' lineup is deep, also coming back from 7 games down in September of 2007 to win the division AND scoring 3 with 2 outs in the 9th against the Rockies the other night, proved to me that they don't call them the "Phightin' Phils" for nothing. Ur boys are good, BUT that bullpen is suspect. Lidge has been money so far in the playoffs, but Madson ... NOT so much.

But neither were as bad as the '67 Phillies choke job.  I think they were something like 6 games up with 8 games left.  Lost every game and even fell to 3rd.

The Tigers actually played the Twins on the last game of the season(163rd actually), so that makes me think it's worse, but I am a Mets fan so...

How many games were left to play when Tigers were up 7? You didn't include that.

It was 1964, not 1967. The Cardinals leapfroged the Reds and Phillies to take the NL pennant, then defeat the Yankees in 7.

I chose the Mets, only because they only needed 162 to blow it! LOL
