You are the luckiest, canniest, and most reckless man I ever knew. Bless you, laddie.
I like half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve!
It's the dwarves that go swimming with little, hairy women.
Sneaky little hobbitses...
Even the smallest person can change the course of the future.
Certainty of death. Small chance of success. What are we waiting for?

Rob got up and went fishing.  Joel played video games til the sun came up.   What to do?  What to do?

And yet another reason to choose Notre Dame.

Funeral for Tom this morning.  I was fine until graveside.  Tom was in the navy, so he got Taps and when they folded up the flag and presented it to Patsy, the lady who presented it said, "On behalf of a grateful nation and a proud navy, I present this flag to you in recognition of your husband's service to his country."  The waterworks started.  It was a beautiful ceremony overall.  Short and sweet.

Afterwards, I bought a bookcase and new sheets and a comforter for my bed.  I knew I'd be going to Hobby Lobby today b/c I have a lot of crafting to do.  The unexpected stop was to the movie theater to see Les Mis.  Loved it.  I thought it would be a little heavy after the funeral, and it was.  I still enjoyed it with my whole heart, though, which says a lot b/c of my love for the theater and my leeriness over any remake of a theatrical classic.

Who knows what tonight holds, besides the fact that I know it's a night in.  Maybe I'll make a date with some popcorn and my dvr.

Taps always kicks my ass. I've been to 2 funerals in the past couple of years for men who served. I didn't even know one of them, but the minute they present that flag after Taps, I'm a mess.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. Have an enjoyable rest of the evening.

I'm still tired from being on the pond for 7 hours yesterday.
So today, I'm leaving in about 5 minutes to go see Django.  Hopefully a writeup will follow this evening
