There were mods that visited the poll and even commented in it. The way i intrepret that is there are certain mods that must be a bit more tight @ssed than others. Or maybe that someone visited the poll late last night or early this morning that threw a huge fcking fit about it and got it closed. Either way those people need to lighten the fck up. In the span of just a few hours it had more comments from a variety of different people than any other poll the whole day. What does that say? Thong of the Day polls...and Daily Ab polls...and all of the pseudo-intellectual polls...and semi retarded emotional quip polls in broken english....these are all fine. But for once in weeks there was something different that brought us all together and it was closed because of what? Hurt feelings? Grow up. A kid on the site? In my opinion kids shouldnt be in the locker room to begin with. And im probably in the majority on that. Im going to end this rant by saying that i think the CoC needs an overhaul and its long overdue. Either that or there needs to be a section for us who are old enough not to need a babysitter.

Exactly. And something else that i think might be happening is that certain mods are friends with certain people. Despite what the mod actually thinks of the questionable material they censor it for no other reason than their friend was offended.

Moderators are instructed to close polls if the forum ends up getting out of hand. So, the poll could have been fine originally but ended up being closed due to the forum spiraling out of control. When there is questionable material, it is discussed among mods so that everyone is on the same page before it gets removed. This is how the possibility of inconsistency is avoided. As for mods being friends with certain people; of course - that's inevitable. Moderators shouldn't be expected to not make friends with regular users on the site. However, there is a very diverse group of mods, and each one has their own group of friends. Just because moderator may be friends with one user doesn't mean that user gets special treatment from the site or is "above the rules". Mods aren't even above the rules. If you see this happening with specific moderators or members please report it directly to me.

Generally, things are blatant and obviously against the code of conduct so they don't even require discussion; especially now that the code of conduct has been rewritten to be more clear. However, in rare cases where a poll is "questionable" (maybe an innuendo is a little too close to crossing the line, etc.), or the poll is acceptable but the forum has turned "questionable" and it teeters the line, there is a private forum where something may be brought up by one moderator and the rest of them give their opinion. No, none of the moderators have more pull than others, and usually I make the final decision on things. If I'm not around, the decision may be made by someone else who works for the site, or the majority rules (which is very rare...I'm here a lot). Please remember that this is in fact a pg13 and over website, and the moderators are instructed to enforce the code of conduct with that in mind. When Ty created FanIQ he wanted to make sure that sports fans of nearly all ages could come and enjoy competition and discussions with each other. The Locker Room wasn't designed to be for "adults only" - so we need to remember that there are younger users roaming the site.

However, in rare cases where a poll is "questionable" (maybe an innuendo is a little too close to crossing the line, etc.), or the poll is acceptable but the forum has turned "questionable" and it teeters the line, there is a private forum where something may be brought up by one moderator and the rest of them give their opinion. No, none of the moderators have more pull than others, and usually I make the final decision on things. If I'm not around, the decision may be made by someone else who works for the site, or the majority rules (which is very rare...I'm here a lot). Please remember that this is in fact a pg13 and over website, and the moderators are instructed to enforce the code of conduct with that in mind. When Ty created FanIQ he wanted to make sure that sports fans of nearly all ages could come and enjoy competition and discussions with each other. The Locker Room wasn't designed to be for "adults only" - so we need to remember that there are younger users roaming the site. Usually a business (not that this is a business..but the model applies) adapts to its ever growing customer base or eventually gets left behind. It seems to me like there is a desire for a place where things could be a little more "rated R". Im not talking porno...or cybersex...just a place where you could go and vent and tell a dirty joke or two.

This is the reason it's TV PG-13 and not R rated. Everyone can have fun in the locker room here, and I'm sure all of us can do so in a clean and acceptable manner.
