Since the Phillies lost the 2009 World Series, Who do you think was the Goat for the Phillies?
I'd especially like to hear Phillies' fans opinions.

As a Phillies fan, I don't see anything wrong with J-Roll opening his mouth again.  He was 3-3 in his previous huge predictions, but this 4th one just didn't pan out.  3 out of 4 ain't bad, especially in baseball.  Keep your head up, boys -- we'll get it next year.

Hard to say.  Lidge perhaps for blowing the game 4 tie and for not covering 3rd allowing Damon to scramble there.

I gotta go with Howard. He didn't produce at the plate. He had a stong division and championship series, but what the hell happen in the world series?

I wanted to say Howard, but Hamels edged him out by a narrow margin.  I think the lack of confidence in him was a huge factor.  If he is the Hamels of last year, he starts game 2 and the Phillies may have left NY up 2-0.  Instead, Charlie wanted to make sure he was comfortable and let him itch in front of the home crowd.  The guy who was #1 pitcher (until Lee came along) needs to step up in the World Series.  Charlie had to change too much around to accomodate Hamels.

Certainly several players underperformed. But Howard is a former MVP and definitely led the team through the NL series. Too bad for Lidge, but they shouldn't have been depending on him, inconsistent as he's been. I also don't like how Howard basically said he wasn't that disappointed, whereas Utley pointedly stated that they didn't get the job done. Utley is definitely the leader of that team, but Howard needs to grow into the role.
