Do You Like The New Fan IQ?

The comments I have seen so far haven't been too positive, so I thought I would do a poll to see what everybody is thinking and what they are going to do.? Are you staying or leaving, and please include your thoughts about it!

#5 \| 20 days ago SassyRed (+)	When I first joined in June I fell in love with this site, I honestly cant say that I still feel that way, I do not like the changes that have been made will I stay I honestly cant tell you that right now, I love my friends that I have made on here and I do not want to loose touch with them.. Oh I know everyone is going to like the Q bucks but I am not that impressed only because they took away the things that I loved about being on here they could have taken away the PQ and left the smart and funny, and not given us a limit of only 10 so called respect I liked to be able to tell someone that what they did made me laugh, being able to laugh is something that is so important today with what is going on in our world.. If I do decide to stay I hope they dont keep on making these changes if its not broken dont fix it but you wanted my opinion that is Sassy's two cents worth Enter the poll to see my answer

I particularly don't like the thumbs up removed to be replaced with 10 points of respect per day! I haven't explored it yet fully, however I thought our previous rank & points were supposed to be posted on our Home Page? I'll wait to hear from others and maybe we can discuss it? If they want fantasy games then just bring back the old Q and add Fantasy Games to it. This is ridiculous. I am not happy at all right now. It may be a little intimidating to people at first, but as always change will grow on us. Plus we have a plethora of outstanding MODS and leadership here willing to help answer any any questions and make this adjustment as smooth as possible. Enter the poll to see my answer

Thanks for the reward of fake money .... maybe throw it in an interest bearing account and let me change it for real money and I'll actually take another look at it. So I can only ~~reward, agree, thumb up,disagree~~ have respect for 10 posts all day? Use them wisely it says. Hmm, guess they won't be used at all then. Who knows, the next post I read might be more worthy of my respect than the last one, so I better hang on to them. Don't hold your breath expecting respect from me. It isn't personal you see. I do not like that RESPECT is the ONLY accolade you can give and personally I do NOT like using the term RESPECT for a website comment acknowledgement. 3. With the new response choices, it seems alot of the interaction and FUN has gone out of the Q. 4. am NOT a Fantasy geek so the site is getting further and further away from what I like about it and use it for. 5. The PM box has been removed from the first message box to another Q member. (Has anyone else noticed this?) 6. The site seems SLOW again!!! Very sluggish response time.

I also don't like being limited to 10 respects per day, but I will probably get used to that too. That being said I don't think I will stop coming here daily. It is clear to me that one of the draws for people were the accolades. They were like crack that kept us coming back and we (at least me) like to see who thought what was funny or smart. On a serious note, I believe the idea was by having so many of them to hand out they were wasted and just anything was praised. Now I think the belief is, only the very best will get accolades because people will be much more choosey and in turn that will only bring out the best stuff. Quality over quantity, however with the crack issue, I think we'll just have that many more posts with folks having to make a post when they think something is funny or smart. Yes, you might run out, but over a few days, you will start thinking about what you really enjoy, and what was just a witty little comeback or profound thought. You will learn to space out your respects. Plus, if you find something good that really deserves respect after you have used all 10 of yours, bookmark it and acknowledge it the next day. 3. Ask yourself what you are truly here for! If your main focus on this site is sports articles, predictions, and trivia, then use most of your respects in those areas. If your main focus is locker room polls and friends, then use most of your respects for that. I would certainly hope that no one is offended when they don't get a respect for making simple comments like Happy Birthday! (On a side note, I always found it amusing in a way when I would tell someone Happy Birthday in a poll and I got 35 "smarts" for it... but when I made a comment under something serious or sports related that took a lot of thought, I would be lucky to earn 3 thumbs!) 4. Replying with accolades instead of giving respect... good idea or not?? I personally think replying to a comment with another comment is fine if you really want to emphasize strong feelings about it. Especially if you have run out of respects to give for the day. I personally wouldn't over-use it just to give a thumbs up, as the polls will become cluttered. (Just my humble opinion.) PM's and shout-outs are good for giving thumbs, too. 5. Suggest specific changes to mods if you truly think it will benefit the site. If the majority of people have similar opinions about certain aspects of the site, I'm sure the mods will take notice. I agree with everyone who has said 10 respects isn't enough, but it hasn't even been 24 hours since the change, so I'm not going to voice the matter to a mod until I use the site over a period of days, weeks, maybe even a month. The changes were put into place for a reason, and as with everything in life, not all parties will be happy with every aspect of this site. But give it time and see how it goes. Then if you are still convinced that a change is necessary, tell a mod. (Hoping mods don't get blasted with PM's and place blame on me...) 6.) DON'T LEAVE! There are a lot of good relationships on here, and a lot of witty and charismatic people. You may not enjoy everything about the site as you had in the past, but these people won't become LESS WITTY or LESS ENJOYABLE! The interaction on here is what gives me most of my laughs for the day! At least when I am not sleeping, watching ND and watching Dallas. If I am still lost and haven't come to like the new season come Monday morning, I will be deleting my account. The biggest thing is this Respect BS. 10 is way too few, either give us more or marry the respect with the old system. Why do I have to respect a poll? Why can't I simply "like it"? Why do I have to respect a comment? Why can't it be smart, funny, or bold? I can tell you that at this moment right now, I don't respect Season 2. I am intrigued by the fantasy, but don't understand the point of Q bucks. Let's say I go on a losing streak and lose the Q bucks I started out with. How do I earn more? The abridged version: to Q-Bucks and gifts (although I'm certainly not going to buy more when I run out). to the new Fantasy League stuff ... I don't personally think I'll use them, but people seem happy about it and it's not causing me a headache, so whatever. to loss of accolades and this new "respect" thing. to only having 10 "respect" to give out per day. On a final note, I do understand that a lot of people were giving out accolades for silly things at times. However, is it really THAT bad that people were showing others that they liked and appreciated their feedback on a poll, no matter how ridiculous some people may think that comment is? Sometimes all it takes is a "reply to comment" and a top make me laugh and give someone a "funny". Also, I know for me, I tend to post more often when I know that others are actually enjoying and appreciating my posts (some of you may not be thrilled that I posted more, but whatever ... bite me lol). I think that people will, overall, become less likely to participate if they don't get that feedback and sense of camaraderie with the other members of the Q that accolades helped provide.

Then came the banning of comments on trivia, that was great for inter action and friends. Then came this silly season two, which has now taken the rest of the fun away. I have no idea where I rank any more, or at what level. I certainly don´t need another complicated facebook with pretend money and gifts, and fantasy games which don´t interest me. Yes, I wanted to give more, but there were some that REALLY made me laugh, so they got one without question! Not sure what to tell you about your topics on your profile page not working. Maybe it will clear up soon. The one other suggestion I have (and as I have already mentioned somewhere else around here...) is that I would like a picture link under people's profile picures. And I know from experience the ads take you to some very inappropriate websites.. But my feeling is, this should have been thought about when the site was opened, not sucker people in and get used to it and out of the blue decide to make all the changes. This is not fair to the members.. I probably would not have stayed if the site was set up like it is now. But it was fun and easy before.. Now not so much fun.. If they continue the season 1 and asked for money (membership fee for some specail features)I would have payed but now never. That way was more competative,we will get used to this but that doesnt means that we like it. I dont want or like to play any game against my friends,I want to play by my own . If we were after games there was a ton of games on other sites .I was an addict of pogo before finding the Q . There are a lot of games in face book or other sites as well. I really do miss being able to give someone a "funny" or "bold" for a statement made. I didn't give those out just because I could, I did it because I felt the comment deserved it. It was so easy to "push the button" and not have to post that the person made me laugh or whatever. Having 10 "respects" is very limited. I used to spend a lot of time on here but haven't lately because everyone is getting used to the new way and frankly, there just isn't a lot posted on here except these kind of polls lately. To me, that is frustrating. I play a lot on POGO because my girls got me into it and I really like the site for games. I have games on Facebook that I also do for entertainment. I'm hoping that once the hoopla dies down and we all get used to the changes, things will get back to our fun loving, back biting, name calling ways and we will be normal again! lol Seriously, I think many are taking the changes too personally and should wait and try things out for a while before they start jumping the gun. That is what i'm doing. I may not be here as much right now, I also have a job now but can still get on here at work any time I want. Take away their point value and maybe gratuitous accolades wouldn't bother some people. I am willing to give Season 2 a chance. This is a website. It is not my child's school, my HMO, or my retirement fund. If someone suggested drastic changes to those, I'd get excited. If the Q fails to live up to my expectations, the sun will rise tomorrow and life will go on.

Even the comments had a range of options from smart, funny, bold and poor to exactly express the feelings. The scoring also pumped up adrenaline. The new one is more like business like putting Amateurs in disadvantage.

As for glitches, please remember the "Report a Bug" feature and the User Experience forum - this is the best way for our techs to see when something is wrong. They don't often scour the polls. Reporting things to a mod is ok too, but 2nd-hand information is much less reliable than getting explanations directly from the person reporting the problem. In regards to the points being taken away; points haven't been taken away. Actually just the "Overall FanIQ Ranking" has been removed. There are still individual rankings for each game (trivia, quizzes, polls, etc.) - which can be seen on the Leader board, found under "Fun & Games". Your career stats are still there, and your weekly stats will show up on your profile. Also, if you rank within the top 10 of any game on any given week, you receive $2,000 bonus Q Bucks (for each game you rank within the Top 10 in). #1 fan in any team/driver/etc. gets you the same thing as it ever did: recognition. You show up on people's home page as being one of the top 3 fans, and you receive a trophy for each week you rank. It also shows up on the rollover popup by your picture that you are ranked a top fan, and on your profile where it shows your favorite teams. That hasn't changed much, actually (you never really got more than recognition as a top fan in season 1). If there's anything else I can answer, let me know! :)

With that being practically the only way to make any Q Bucks it just isn't giving me the incentive to take part in the site anymore. The only reason I am here is for the friends I have made. There are a lot of good relationships on here, and a lot of witty and charismatic people. If I closed my account, I can guarantee I would never find anything comparable elsewhere. I enjoy the people here and I hope you all stick around!!
