Would you like to be a fan or fanatic for cricket.?
End of season I and beginning of Season II saw the site with lots of bickerings, plain speaking and even words of abuse and violence with words. Cricket is a team game like any other team game, some perform well through out their career, some perform occassionally, then fade out for various reasons, some do not even get a second chance after one or two failure thanks to the system of selection, zonal considerations, some remain seated on bench, entire career, though in the team. Performances are admired, seen with adoring eyes, enjoyed with great joys, fans of cricket see the game as a game, good players are admired, their performances are adored, but when it is fan turning in to fanatic, a person who has only obsession with chosen few, the team of cricket is no more a "team" but one or two man show.
Fanatics then have greater grind to axe, if performed they exaggerate, if not the actions speak louder than words, burning of effigies, brawls in inebriated fanatic actions of fan turning fanatic, but none are bothered about the team and its non performance at crucial games. So, to understand this mind set, few questions. Please do not participate if you feel this poll is not important, gladly consign it to dustbin.
After seeing at the scenes of violent actions at various stadia, be it a football or cricket match, this is of concern about the fan behaviour at such times when stadia burns, innocent fans who watched the game are sufferers.Fanatics escape the scene after the violent actions.

#1 I need the OTHER option
#2 I don't think there should be violence in any sports
#3 Some sports are team sports and some are individual sports so there also needs to be another OTHER option.

AND I was multi tasking on IM and it took yet ANOTHER respect from me today

1.  I'd watch Cricket, but there's not much of it going on over here, so no, probably would never be a fan/fanatic
2.  Fan violence is not good.  Happy to say we don't see a lot of that here.
3.  Yes, it's the duty of older more experienced players to mentor younger players, hopefully teaching them teamwork and sportsmanship above all else.

I love cricket and go to the games whenever i can , although the one dayers are easy as i can never take enough time of work to attend the tests. And the streakers are always a hoot. Unless only the ugly drunk guys strip off. Violence in sport should not be accepted in any form.

The poll in general was about the team sports, in particular about cricket, which is a team game. About Respects, sincerely, I wish the administration thinks a second look at this aspect, as for me I do not wish to be in a place where the respect to each other is not the need, intolerance is the  creed, well, then it is just 20 minutes to extend the respect to many Friends, and log out.!

The young players who have come in to shorter quick version of T20 have no time to improve their skills with huge money riding high, team is not built in short periods of time, IPL has been negative for very good budding talents, who have found the showmanship of aggressive ways like Shreesanth and irfan, Yuvaraj and Bhajji who get in to brawls within and out of the cricket field, the aged and dazed players have no time to mentor the young ones, and golden era of the cricket team India is going from good to bad and worse as we see it, with only consideration being  to be in the team so that one can have the advertisements and endorsements and wealth for it, ofcourse records accrue as long as one is in the team. !

Too much of any game is boring, even players do not seem to mind throwing their wicket away, can see them coming to the pavilion with smiling faces after being loosing their game and performance.!
