Neighbors,Neighbors,Neighbors
Okay fellow iquers about 6 to 7 months ago my wife and I decided(mostly my wife) we need to sell our house due to some of my health problems I couldn't quit keep up the maintenance on it so we bought a mobile home and a piece of property the only trouble I now got neighbors on all sides of me where as before the closest was about 5 miles away ,I really don't like having neighbors ,but I can deal with it.So my question is would you prefer to live where you have plenty of neighbors or would you like to live out in the boonies where you can run around stark naked if you like ,have fun with this one

I'm a city boy till the day I take my last breath.  Love the country for a few days at a time, but nothing gets my juices flowing like the hustle and bustle of the city.  Even though there are millions of people around me, I love the feeling of being somewhat anonymous.  It seems to me that everyone and their brother knows your business in small towns.  That would get on my nerves.  Plus I need more food options than McDonald's and Applebee's.

DONT MIND neighbors as long as they are respectful of the neighborhood and unwritten rules...........

My goal is to eventually buy about 5 acres and design the house I want to live in, too be built in the center of that property.. Neighbors are ok here where I live but there all VERY OLD which means they'll die and the houses will go to young ppl with 10 kids that scream and cry all the time....No thanks..I'm outta here as soon as I win the Lottery...lol

I can't ever see myself living in Wisconson, Iowa or Indiana.

I need a major city, just like my boy SWOLE!  I need to be near some action or I'll literally go nutso!

Now, with that being said, As much as I would love to live where I have a lot of neighbors, that all depends on what kind of crotch monkeys these people are!   I think I can recall only 2x ever having cool neighbors!  Usually, I'm dealing with ones that are weird or nosey or smell or have little kids that break my sh**!  If I'm going to be stuck with THOSE people, I'd pick the boonies! frown

I live about 10 miles outside a small town. I have neighbors on either side of me. None in the front, and behind us is a neighbor a couple acres back. Very quiet and dark at night, you can see soooo many more stars here at night, than in the city. I'm only about an hour or two from Tampa or Orlando, so the big city is close enough if I wanna do something. we have more critters running around than we do neighbors, and thats the way I like it!

Have grown up in San Diego, fairly large city, but grew up more suburban areas, places with neighbors fairly close by, but with some yard as a buffer..  Now (for the last 21 years) live in mobile home park, and have had to put up with neighbors close by.    Some issues with noise (as some like having parties, occasionally going on after midnight) and parking issues, but overall not too bad.

Here are two things that I have found to work wonders with nearby neighbors...
1) Clean out your garage so you can park your car in there and get an automatic opener. That way you don't even have to get out of your car until the door is on its way down.
2) Let the neighbors all know loud and proud that you sit in your hot tub at night in your birthday suit. That will keep the neighbor's windows sealed up tighter than a nun's habit.

Ultimately, people aren't too bad if they know where your boundaries are.
Good luck!

If I could have no neighbors and still live within 8 miles of the highway and a Target, I'd be happy. I don't like people so I plan on living in the country part of the country one day.

I definitely like the security of having neighbors - I could never live out in the country, miles away from the nearest neighbor. But, I also like living in neighborhoods that we kind of keep to ourselves...We keep an eye on each other's homes in case of any suspicious behavior - kind of like a neighborhood watch type thing - but other than that, we leave each other alone. That's my ideal neighborhood. I hated living in a small town where everybody knows everybody else's business, but I don't want to live right on top of each other either. A happy medium is perfect for me...with a nice big city close by.

I love the city life.  However, I think the quiet country life is underrated.  There is nothing like having access to a farm where all the food is fresh and grown on the property (even the chickens and cows).  I love going out to a garden, picking tomatoes straight off the vine and opening the little mailbox that contains the salt and pepper (yes, my grandpa had a mailbox in his tomato patch for salt and pepper), spit shining a tomato, and biting into it just like an apple.

I am a private person whether I'm in the country or the city and it takes a while to get to know me either place, so there's that.

I live way way back in the subdivision. Nothing but country and farmland for miles behind me ( good trout fishing about a quarter mile away)  " town/ liquor store about 2 miles away!  We're far enough back the kids can play very safely! No nosy neighbors, as a matter of fact it's almost beer in the driveway season! The freeway is about 5 miles away, Target/ Old Navy/ Bestbuy  about 6 miles away and the "big city" (Boise pop. 500,000) is about 13 miles away. This being Idaho Boise is really less than a 20 minute drive!

On one side I have a house with approx 10 people living in it....it has one bathroom...but they are better than the previous hillbillies that had a daughter that sold crack...and the woman on the other side is losing her mind so I literally just got done doing yard work for her but she annoys us to no end!!!!  At least we know we are the normal ones

what could also work for you with #2 is you could get a hot and horny but sexually unsatisfied housewife come over to your hot tub looking to join you.

The downside is that hot and horny housewife might be 85 years old, lmao.

Can't hit it too hard, would get me into lots of trouble. But I do put lots of JD in my barbecue sauce, makes an outstanding barbecue that way.

I prefer the boonies, however my bookie likes me to live close to him so I can walk my losses to him rather than having them sent by pony express.
