My coffee maker isn't making coffee, it's just pissing me off.
Looks like I made burgers when I rolled in last night.  Kitchens trashed.
My phone is missing.
I tried some hot tea, and when I put my coffee creamer in it. it curdled.  Looks like vomit.

someone explain to me what kind of membership I need for my xbox 360, and then explain to me why I need this thing.

I watching a show from 3 weeks ago with a tornado warning message on the bottom of it and our sirens just went off... so trippy.

Song for you for today.

Open your eyes and see me,
Tell me that it's not too late.
Whisper to me a sad song,
Weighing us down in shame.
I always said I believed you,
You told me that was so cliche.
And with every kiss I resented you
Because your feelings never got in the way

[Chorus 1]
I know that you never loved me;
I know that you never cared at all,
Maybe just one more dance
Cause that's as close as you're gettin' to a true romance

Open your heart and feel me,
Tell me you don't feel the same.
I dig down deep for forgiveness,
And still you're busy placing the blame.
This isn't about right or wrong now,
It's not about wasted time.
I should have paid closer attention,
But I didn't bother reading the signs.

[Chorus 2]
I know that you never loved me;
I know that you never cared at all,
No my love we can't be friends,
In fact I liked you much better
When you'd just pretend.

[Chorus 1]

Open your arms and hold me,
Tell me it'll be alright.
Tell me the thing you've never told a soul
That keeps you up at night.
When could you tell it was over?
When did you turn on me?
I'd cry if I thought it would change your mind
Cry for the girl I hoped you to be.

[Chorus 2]
[Chorus 1]

I have no clue as to what I'm doing today, if anything.  Tomorrow I got tickets for the Bucs/Cubbies game and it's supposed to be 90 in the Burgh...I'm gonna fry.  Monday maybe I should look into going to Sandcastle water park.  Tuesday I'm still off and I'm planning to go out in the afternoon with some friends from work, one who is off and the rest who will join us after their sorry selves get out of work for the day.  4-day weekend, TAKE THAT!

It's hot as hell already. I'm staying inside as much as possible.

I may not have gotten to go to Indy this year, but thanks to DC having a Fogo De Chao, I can at least still do my friend (RIP) and I's tradition of going to Fogo the night before the 500 for a meat orgy.

You know what I'm doing tomorrow. I'm thinking we might have three live race threads tomorrow: I'll post one for Monaco in the morning and the 500, while Debi takes us home with the 600.

Less than 24 hours to take the Indy 500 related polls. Do it because you respect my passion for the race (yeah, that's it...).

It's so darn hot here in Delhi, so hot that I'm typing this half naked.

Friday was awesome we drank and then we drank and then we drank again.

Saturday was chores day ended up working along the plumber installing new connections to the main pipeline.

I don't know what I'm going to do tomorrow, all plans are in a limbo right now.

Enjoy this weekend.

Afternoon Q'ers....

UGHHHH!!!! Rangers blew it last nite!!!  Couldn't SHOOT....THE.....PUCK!!! Actually, they did have over 30 shots on goal, but just couldn't put it past Old Man Brodeur.  The Kansas City Scouts...er...Colorado Rockies....er....NEW JERSEY DEVILS (those of you who don't know the hockey history, that's the progression of how the Devils came into being) will LOSE to that GREAT team, The Kings.

I spent the morning at our local Applebees being a waiter/busboy for our Rotary Club's fundraiser.  We are sponsoring a "Relay For Life" team in memory of one of our club members (and one of my golfing buddies) who passed away recently at the too young age of 68.  He fought lung cancer long and hard but finally succumbed.  It was a pretty neat system...they did all the cooking, we served drinks, brought the food out of the kitchen and then bused the tables.  The only complaint I had was that they had the TV's on and they kept showing the highlights from the Rangers-Devils game last night..  All in all, though, it was a pretty good turnout for a holiday weekend, and we raised over $600 to donate to the Cancer Society.

It's baseball season now.  I will watch the Stanley Cup Finals (which I haven't done intently since 1994) because I want to see the KINGS win their first cup!

Have a great weekend, and if you can read this....thank a teacher....if you have the freedom to write this, then thank a VETERAN and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice so that we DO have our freedoms!!

Hola Q'Lets

I think I'm technically supposed to be on a 3-day weekend but I had so much going on yesterday that I'm not going to take it. My husband and daughter are home though, so there's that. We might grill...or I should say he might. I don't grill...I'm better at baking and roasting and such.

I hear Chris Collinsworth isn't on the new Madden game. Can someone confirm or deny this rumor? It has significant bearing on whether or not I will be making the purchase.

Ash - are we gonna do another Prison Break marathon or am I on my own now? I've put a hold on watching the rest of them because I didn't want to continue without you if we're doing the whole series together.

8 DAYS!!

Went to Benihana last night with some guys Trev works with - it was so much fun. I always love that place but our chef was top notch last night - tricks and jokes and just awesome all around. And my daughter was also on point last night with her sassiness. (It's my word) - one example - the guy who was sitting at the other end of the table with his girlfriend left before we finally got up to go, and Kiernan noticed the mess he left. She said "don't feel so bad mom - he made a bigger mess than you do with chopsticks...and he was using a FORK"

Hmm...no. I didn't have filet mignon wrapped in bacon tonight but I don't like it, so I wouldn't consider that being a better night. It's all perspective.

I had Yakisoba leftovers from Benihana (effin awesome even the 2nd day), stuffed baby bell peppers, spiked iced tea, and then a movie with my family complete with fresh popcorn, and Hershey's Kisses. I've had a fabulous night...and now Trever's picking some on his classical guitar and I'm getting ready to curl up with a book. Boring Saturday night for some, but I lubs it heart

Raise the Jolly Roger!  I'll take a win any way I can get it.  The Bucs get a walk-off win as Matt Hague takes one for the team.  Bases loaded, 2 outs, bottom of the ninth, and the 2-2 pitch hit him.

BTW, that's 11 for the Cubs.

I am a million times better with a chopstick than I am with a fork.  I think there is a little Asian person living inside of me.

I finished reading Mockingjay today at the laundromat.  Big mistake.  I should not have finished that book in public.  There's no graceful way to feel what I felt as I finished that book.

I started coughing today, which is bulls**t.  I'm hoping it's just allergy related and not one of those summer f**king things that will end up requiring medication.  Time to break out the bourbon.

I've been to four Indy 500's. There are always incredibly respectful of service members. I bet anything TV made them do it that way. For the record though, I didn't have a problem with it. I don't see how it couldn't have been Taps for both the fallen service members and Dan.

lol I love it, but it has to be cooked a certain way. It has to be super crispy - verging on burnt. I don't like it with filet mignon because it doesn't get the crisp that I like. I do love it with breakfast and on BLTs - oh god I'm craving BLTs.

agreed.... i'll rephrase............. "some classless a-hole"..... seeing a driver die in a horrific crash leaves me nothing short of sick to my stomach and terribly saddened. in no way do i want to trivialize Dans passing. however my problem with how they did this is:
Taps has always been a military tribute. since the civil war it has been used by our services to honor the fallen in their eternal rest. that is where it needs to be kept. a 1 minute salute reserved to remember and honor our fallen military members should not be too much to ask of all those who reap the benefits of their sacrifice.

Jess might want to get out of Florida before I get there, since she is a non bacon lover. She just might be the first sacrafice.

Yesterday, was great, drank from 10 AM till well after 2 AM. We smoked different kind of meats, a 8 lb pork belly, a 14 lb brisket, 10 lbs of hamburgers, 20 lbs of chicken wings. We went through at least 5, 30 packs of beer, 3 bottles of vodka, 1 bottle of whiskey, 1 bottle of Tequilla. I sure hope Florida knows how to party, otherwise this might be a boring adventure. The best part is that I didn't have to clean any of it up. I am a meat smoking master, I didn't know that till yesterday, but I f**king rock at anything involving food.
Hmmm...you smoked meats...I was with people smoking vegetation...wait...what?

Good Sunday night all.  I didn't get Thursday off from the Liquor Store, but I raced (yes, I broke the speed limit) out to the golf course after work for Ladies Night.  It was so much fun, and we actually golfed pretty good too.  I did the prizes announcements again, and everyone tells me I'm a natural and they love me (I keep telling them I was once a disc jockey and I'm used to it, but they just don't seem to get it)

I moved the trailer out to the golf course Friday, got it all set up and liveable, and my hubby made it out in time to play couples night with me.  Again, we had a blast.  Played with another couple we have known a long time and just had an all around great time.  After golfing we were treated to Prime rib with ALLLLLLLL the fixings.  Totally awesome.   We had a few drinks afterwards, but headed back to our own campsite for a fire and music.  Again, awesome.

Saturday I relaxed in the sun, then worked at the clubhouse in the evening.  Spent 3 hours on the beer cart, and had a great group of people in a tournament which made the time fun.  We sat around the campfire again after that.  Today we got up early and the kids and I went golfing while the hubster came home and cut the grass.  Got home in time for the Coca-Cola 600.  I'm a little bit red, but not hurting, so it's all good.

It was time for me to have a good weekend.  Work at the Liquor Store has been very stressful lately, and mostly unpleasant, so this re-energized me.  It re-energized me to count the hours until I get out of the Liquor Store and can head back to the golf course......

Back to work at the Liquor Store in about an hour.  The thought fills me with dread.  How is it that I once thought I loved this job, and now with all the backbiting and bitching, I hate the thought of going there?  Oh well, it pays the bills.

I'd say something about Memorial Day, but the words don't feel adequate, so I won't. It's certainly in my thoughts today.

After a weekend of racing and excessive food and alcohol consumption, I go back to studying today. Last exam, presuming I passed the one I took last week.

Still stoked from the Indy 500. What a race, one that confirmed I'm not missing another one in person again. Here's the recap I wrote yesterday.

Watched Monaco and the 600 as well. Monaco was a parade as always, and I drifted in and out of paying attention to the 600 due to reading about the 500. What I saw though didn't really impress me.

Alright, back to work.

You have a problem with NJ being called the "Garden State"? Is it the orange comment? lol One of the blonde Ice Girls for the Kings is orange. Some girls like that. I'm not judging.

BUT FINE.....you root for the Devils. I hope Stoney keeps playing more and more and more hockey, baseball, and any other sport he wants.........leaving him too tired to do "other" things. Go Stoney playing lots of tiring sports!

Happy Memorial Day everyone !

I like many have always had a deep appreciation for members of our military probably because my dad was himself in the military and served in Vietnam. It is such a selfless act for one to give their life fighting for the protection and freedoms of others that words really can not express the gratitude it deserves.

I remember being at a veterans day event at a school years ago and some kids were asking questions to the 3-4 veterans there and one of the teachers relaying the questions said at end it takes a better man to be a soldier , and my dad said well being a better man didn't make me a soldier it was being a soldier that made me a better man and the other guys all seemed to very much agree, i never forgot that  Even years later through all that soldiers go through that pride and love for what they did never leaves them, that is what makes those servings even a little more special.

Also this memorial day be sure to not only remember and think about all the soldiers no longer with us but the families they leave behind or soldiers and the families currently have because they also have sacrificed so much. Being a family member of a soldier is not a real easy thing especially in times of war and turmoil , so they deserve a lot more recognition then they often receive.

To those of you that have given all for your country and your fellow American's and for all of you who have and still are serving you not only have my thanks and appreciation but my never ending respect  for all that you have and continue to do !

Yeah definitely dvr'ing it too, that way I can watch commercial free.

I flipped by at one point and one of the families member was accusing the others families member of stealing pigs. Sounds like there was a battle for pork belly back then too.
