Where the hell has everyone been?  Also, was the site down for anyone else yesterday?  I NEED to know.  I broke my finger last night so I'm taking a personal day to cry about it.

My amp died three weeks ago, I've had it 23 years. It has a ton of sentimental value and is a great amp when working right. So after replacing the tubes and having a repair guy noodle on it, I picked it up last night. Like a brand new machine. Just in time, We have a few gigs coming up.

The Braves are apparently letting me down easy, I guess it's better than ripping out my heart in the final two weeks of the season. 

I am hearing/reading real good news about the Falcons these days. I cannot wait for football season. I love that stuff.

Kings, wow. I believed... I truly did all year. I also believe the team ain't done yet. 

GO Oklahoma City, please.

Is this like a Season 1/Season 2 rebellion thing?  Where they changed some s**t and people are heading over to Rootzoo?  Or maybe it's just a general trend and I should go make myself a MySpace account and be a trendsetter.  Hmph.

They were having Chuy (from Chelsea Lately) read excerpts on the show now and then.  



A little person, with a thick accent, no less, makes everything funny (I guess G.Gottfried is close enough to a little person, though, so I might very well enjoy that).

Got the insert in the newspaper about the upcoming Summer Pops concert series.  I've gotten tickets to see Roberta Flack perform.    Most of the rest of the series, I'll be out on the fireworks barge whenever I can.  (With the exception of the day my daughter and I are watching Drum Corps International competition - Go Phantom Regiment!)

I thought work blocked me too. I was happy to find out it didn't. I haven't seen any new names, but then again I just signed on. You tube is blocked at my work, so count me out of the assignment.

So I just saw that Big Brother is starting again on July 12th. I like that show, so I'm pretty happy. 

Ash was in Sparta last night so she is alive!!

That is all I have for now, I gotta get dressed for work....I'll be back once I'm there!!

 Adam Carolla started a minor firestorm by saying women aren't as funny as men. What an idiot. What a tired take. He's like a character in a Ron Burgundy movie. Obviously he doesn't know Leigh or J (on this site for example) or the tons of women killing it (and him!) on twitter. It's not about funny men vs. funny women, it's about funny PEOPLE vs. those that aren't. Random case in point, Lolo Jones, America's next sweetheart come the Olympics. She's hysterical. (A Casey Anthony gag!! Boom!!!) I cannot wait until she's everywhere all the time. She's a living/breathing one liner. The Q was down yesterday, from about 11am CDT to ?? 

Drove 35 minutes to my softball game last night (Chicago to Northbrook) to find out that we were forfeiting because 3 guys called our captain, 1 hour before game time!  angry  Pretty much ruined our chance at taking over 1st place and lost our $50 Forfeit fee!

But, I got home in time to watch the CUBS beat the WSOX, again!  HA!  Not that it really matters, but it's nice to not hear my Sox fans talk trash for a few days!

 Thought the Big G was finally on to me...F*** Big Brother!!  (Hell yes, I am looking around right now!!)

This transplanted-to-work-to-support-your-habits-and-family s*** is really depressing and you get ulcers and angst and other nervous conditions due to circumstances that are beyond your control, but you can't figure why they just don't happen to anyone else but YOU when you don't NEED them too!!

I have been incredibly passive aggressive for the last week.  To the point of stiff neck and body aches.
So, this morning I just let everyone have a piece of my mind.  Better than an advil.  Of course, no one
will talk to me now........just as well.   I wasn't finished.

 This is some bullsh*t.  The doctor asked me to describe my pain on a scale of 1-10 and I said 7.  That equaled no vicodin for JSwol and dammit....JSwol is not happy about it.

Afternoon Q'ers!  Haven't been around much for the past few days for a few reasons:

1.  New employee (NOT catching on as fast as I'd wish)....and
2.  This is Percy, our seeing eye puppy who arrived a few days ago.  We get to raise him for a year to 16 months, then he goes on to bigger and better things, assisting the blind in their daily activities.  Isn't he a cutie?  We didn't pick the name...all his brothers and sisters have names that start with P.

On another note, anyone wanna be in the Top 10 fans that I follow?  It will be the kiss of death, because I keep having people deactivate their accounts when I put them there.  The hardest thing is to try to remember who's missing....I think it was Rogs this time....but not sure....If anyone is thinking of leaving, just let me know and I'll put you in the Top 10 fans that I follow, you're sure to be gone!

I had a migraine for the better part of the day yesterday which, incidentally, worked out well due to the fact that the Q was down for a bit anyway. I'm better now though, thanks for asking. So is the Q. Hmmm. I am a little cranky though.

So I'm considering buying a new set of pots and pans. It's silly how I was brought to this thinking, but the more I think about it the more I really want to take the plunge and get a nice set. I've looked at Calphalon, All-Clad, Circulon, Cuisinart, Oneida...even Pampered Chef and some ceramics. I think I've decided on stainless steel...and I want a large set. Somewhere around 14-17 pieces. (We want to leave our "old" set, which is in great shape, to one of our little coastie friends here who has absolutely nothing but a 2 quart saucepan that has rust on the bottom. We were going to take him shopping but decided on shopping ourselves instead and giving him ours, since he can't afford a decent set.) Does anybody who cooks a lot and knows great stuff have any suggestions? I'm interested in non-stick but do they even make a good non-stick that lasts forever? What's this "hard anodized" stuff? Also - I want it to be oven safe...dishwasher safe is also a plus but it's not a total deal breaker.

Jess, I have a set of stainless and they are great, but i've been buying ceramic, and loooove them. Range, oven, microwave they are fabulous. If you spray before, easy cleanup. Eventually I will have nothing but ceramic.

 UConn has been banned from both the NCAA tourney AND the Big East Tourney b/c their grades are not up to par!!!!  They could also lose four hours of practice time a week that will have to be replaced with academic activities.  I am speechless.  They're supposed to be better than they were last year and now this.

It's a nice course. I like the Park District courses. They're cheap. I did pretty well too, I shot back to back birdies on 7 and 8.

• 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
• 1/4 tsp. ginger powder
• 1/4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
• 1/4 cup vegetable oil
Marinading a couple of steaks in this delicious concoction at this moment.  Marinading my liver in the Woodford Reserve to bide the time until the steaks are ready for the grill.

Yesterday I took a day off to catch up on studying. I made two mistakes though: burning that day yesterday, when it wasn't hot as hell, and sleeping until 11. The Q being down helped, so I did get quite a bit done, including a giant stack of note cards with all the formulas from this section (I didn't count, but it was disturbingly numerous).

I'd like to be more optimistic about things, but I still don't see any evidence at all that we're anything but *bleeped*, and that the country is already a plutocracy, and that all we're deciding this election is how fast we'll become a theocracy as well. I'm starting to see the appeal of willful ignorance.

 This is now the second night in a row I've scored over 10k in just the Jeopardy round, but couldn't get my score to 20k in Double Jeopardy, mostly due to not knowing a thing about the categories in DJ. Ugh, such nerd fail on my part.

My last exam is on July 3rd. I should get the score about a month later. For karmic reasons, I won't be starting up again with the Jeopardy polls until I get my score and have passed (I'm spending the interim going on vacation and making polls for almost every Olympic sport). So best case scenario is early August.

Now that I think about it, that isn't the best response to give an attractive woman batting their eyes at you, but you're taken and Stoney's much bigger than me, so this way I get to keep my limbs.
