Country Music Legend - Toby Keith
Country Music Legend - Toby Keith Photo

My Personal Favorite - The Big Dawg Daddy, Mr. Toby Keith!!

From his romantic ballads to his super patriotic songs to his comedic songs, Toby Keith has always been an inspirational singer to me. Actually, he drew me over to the Country music I swore I'd never be a follower of.  His "Courtesy of the Red, White & Blue" spoke everything I felt on 9/11/01 and was a song I sang daily as a healing song. Although "Angry American" was a song of anger, it also offered a sense of calmness as only Toby can do. Some of my favorite songs by Toby are "Whose Your Daddy", "I Love This Bar", "You Shouldn't Kiss Me",  "American Soldier", "Red Solo Cup", "How Do Ya Like Me", "Beers Ago" just to name a few.

Toby is a Singer, Songwriter, Actor, Producer and owns his on record label - "Showdog"  He wrote, produced and co-starred with Rodney Carrington in "Beer For My Horses"...a hilarious movie taken from his hit song "Beer For My Horses".  He also starred in "Broken Bridges" - a heartwarming, comedy/drama.

Toby is a very outspoken guy (gotta love it), a true loyal supporter of all our troops, past and present, and goes over twice a year to perform for the troops to which he says "He wouldn't have it any other way"
I've seen him in concert and tickets are very reasonable and the show is the best I've ever had the pleasure to see!  Had tickets for another concert of him and his guest, another awesome Country Music Superstar, Trace Adkins...but a tornado hit, show was rescheduled for 2 weeks later and I had the flu..couldn't go :(  Still heartbroken over that :/

His daughter, Krystal, is following in her Dads footsteps as a singer. She's with ShowDog record label and Toby writes some of her songs.

These are my views and knowledge about Toby Keith. There's more, but I don't want this turned into a political debate!

Sooo...enter a number and post your favorite songs, etc about this awesome (to me, lol) Country Music Legend!

This was...16 hundred and 52 beers ago!! ;)
Go! :D

Even though his "Red Solo Cup" song made me want to poke my ears out with pencils, I dig him..............not so much for his music, but for his awesomeness with the troops. My nephew saw him while being stationed in Djibouti, Africa, and later ran into him at Dodgers Stadium----------where he bought my nephew a drink and chatted with him. Great guy.

I like Toby. There was a time I had a problem with him because of the fighting with the Dixie Chicks who I also like. He does a lot for the troops and that is a big plus in my book.

I dig a lot of pre 9/11 Toby Keith.  His new stuff however is just drivel with an occasional solid song mixed in

Legend?  I dont think he's made legend status.  He has some good songs and I paid to see him once.  He was off key on several of his songs.  A lot of singers arent as good live as they are on their album thou.

Legends are entertainers like Johnny Cash, Waylon, Merle, George Jones.  There were a lot of great artists back in their day too, but they stood out and endured over the long haul.  After the first couple of bars of their songs, you already know who it is.

Awesome Becky!  It's great to hear stories like this :)  I was just awed at the troops, past and present, that were at his concert.  He had the whole front section up by the stage reserved just for them and their families and showed great respect for them having everyone stand and cheer for them.  :)

Yes dear...I put in what I wrote up below his picture, that these were my views :)  I've been to many concerts and his was by far, the best.  Went to see George Jones and he never showed up lol   Saw Conway & Loretta years ago and they sounded really bad....just didn't have their harmony like they did on an album.  Was very disappointed. :/ But yeah..I know what you mean by not being as good live as they are on their album(s)  :)

Toby has come along way since he suplexed Jeff Jarrett at one of the 1st TNA pay per views.  I love his music and will always honor him in high regard because of his support for the troops and his love for the Red,White and the Blue!

Just his USO tours and unscheduled trips to Iraq and Kuwait make him a legend; not many performers are willing to go to a war zone to perform for the troops they say they support. Sometimes I get the feeling Toby Keith would love to put on a helmet, flak jacket and grab a rifle and go do some shooting.

I agree with the USO comment. He is a true patriot and supports our troops with more than just words.
