Welcome back. This is the part of the locker room where you can sit and chat and chill for a while without offending or being shushed. Maybe you wanna watch a dvd or listen to your mp3. Yes, I rhymed. Something on your mind, post it! Random question, ask it? Hijacking is allowed and encouraged. Join the party, troll around, have a beer. It's cool. All are welcome, but please leave all BS in the hall.

Wash your hands with soap.

I think I'm dying. My whole body hurts for like 27 different reasons. f***.

enjoy your sith of March.

Morning, Everybodee!

Now I want a hoverboard  (again)    They're making the Nike shoes.  They need to make the board.  They have one year.

I've been "hacking" the thermostat in the band room.  They have this digital keypad that is programmed.  Sadly, like all systems, it is not set to keep the room cool enough.  Well, last year I had found the manual, and I had downloaded it to my iPad.   About the only thing I could do was to return the unit to factory default.  Then the director could manually cool the room.  (Having performing groups moving around heats the room.)   Every so often the keypad would be reprogrammed, and I would have to reset it again.  (The unit MUST be faulty.  It just can't seem to hold its memory.  Gee.)

Well, recently they had put a locked cover over the thermostat.  No access to open the little door to do the reset.   The up and down arrows and the override are the only buttons available, and only the override works when the keypad is locked.

Well,...(cough cough), when the band director's husband is around ( which is usual), he has a tool that he has been able to remove the locked cover.  (I mean, the darn thing just fell off.  Don't know why.)

This last time I had access to the panel I tried something different.  I was able to recalibrate the temperature sensor to think that the room was about 6 degrees warmer than it actually is.  This way, the unit unsuspiciously keeps its program.  (They can check, it still works.)   But the room ends up being cooler.   I'm trying to see how long it takes before someone notices.

Don't have a whole hell of a lot.

Glad the Avs didn't mess with chemistry at the trade deadline.

Good to see the Kings make the best move of 2010 yesterday

Avs host the Red Wings tonight. A win would be huge heading into a Saturday afternoon showdown with the Blues (Nonetheless, there will be day drinking involved saturday)

Does anyone remember the scientific explanation why hoverboards wouldn't be able to work over water? Besides a means to create conflict in the plot of course

Today's ipod deep track comes from my favorite side project from teh boys of Blink 182

+44 - Little Death

Please sleep, my darling, sleep.
Your cry for inspiration, never reaches ears on distant stars.
And every night our lonely planet slides across the universe.
And I won't pretend I understand.

Please sleep, my darling, sleep.
Your death by information won't disturb the peace on distant stars.
And even when you lock the doors and slide behind the unlit shades,
None of us are strangers anymore.

So fall asleep with the windows open.
Come to me with the worst you've said and done.
You'll close your eyes and see me.
A little death makes life more meaningful.
I stand no chance at all.

Please sleep, my darling, sleep.
Your car crash in slow motion won't upset the pace on distant stars.
And one by one our years of our lives stumble as the moments pass.
So please hold on. Please hold on.

So fall asleep with the windows open.
Come to me with the worst you've said and done.
You'll close your eyes and see me.
A little death makes life more meaningful.
I stand no chance at all.

Please sleep, my darling, sleep.
Please sleep, my darling, sleep.

So fall asleep with the windows open.
Come to me with the worst you've said and done.

I've made a handy info-graphic for how an electromagnetic levitation (Maglev) propulsion system on a wireless grid using an external hydrogen cell power supply would, WILL work like in the movie.

Simple enough, but in the film I think they reference (in magic movie "sciency" terms) the difference between paramagnetic & diamagnetic materials that made less sense than my graphic as they glossed over it in a second of dialog.

Long story short... 'cuz it doesn't or something?

1.  Where the hell is Kramer?

2.  Nashville Predators front office...you better have a plan.  And it better be better than the last plan.  And the plan before that.  And if you get rid of Shea Weber, I will break everyone's knees.  Except for Pekka Rinne's.  He's been through enough.

Pssh.

Lumbus took Frattin. Frattin came from the trade with Toronto for Bernier. So in my mind, the Kings got Gaborik for Bernier. laugh

I hate the hockey trading thing.  I really, really hate it.

It has warmed up to -22C which is a damn site better than -38C that it has been for two effing weeks now.

There is so much I want to share right now, but can't really.  All I can say is that a friend of mine really needs some support now.  She has had a horrible, horrible start to 2014 and is facing the death of her closest friend for the past 20+ years.  I want to help, to take some of the stress and pain away, but I don't know how, exept to tell her that if she needs me, I'm here.

I got my hair cut again.. It's funky and weird and longer on one side than the other.  I love it, but no one else seems to.  Guess they figure I'm too effing old to have cool hair.  Oh well.  It's my hair.

Have a great weekend.
