No matter what happens, Fans will come to the game. Patriots/Red Sox have a huge sellout record right now that will never be tarnished

Ummm. Get behind the Pittsburgh Steelers. Sellouts in every game since the 70's. The Steelers sell out even when they aren't winning Super Bowls and when the QB is Mark Malone and Bubby Brister.

Talk to me when in 2033 when the Pats still have a sellout streak.

I can't believe that places like restaurants would stoop so low.  U get smaller portions on smaller plates, u now have to choose whether u want vegetables OR a potato instead of both, and all at higher cost.  Some places won't give u a refill on ur Diet Coke, for crying out loud.  First it was gas prices, but after they went down, it was the state of the economy.  What next?   Oops, sorry, Bean!

I have lived thru many recessions and the one thing i have learned from them is how to cut back and be saving.  I personally think they are good for the majority of people.  Not for the ones who have lost their jobs with no imcome at all.  Recessions give people time to stop running so fast and slow down and take stock of their lives and  find what their priorities are.  I think families become closer.  Instead of dad going golfing ( you fill in what you do) and mom going shopping, they decide to drop those things as being too expensive and just stay home with the kids and pop some popcorn and watch a movie or play a game etc..  Yeah i can se the good in them.

Thanks to the recession, I've learned that it's time to cut back on things.  I say let's cut out the "ion" and just have recess!

I am not getting the raise I was promised in my contract. They are using words like economic disaster to justify no raises and violating our contract, We have an impasse hearing in a couple months. By the time this all plays out the recession will be over.

I think, though recessions can be a scary time to live through, it teaches us the value of money and hard work. Our parents worked  hard so their children (us) wouldn't have to work through the same sh!tty jobs and situations that they did...Its a great selfless act but it also leaves a nation of children who have everything given to them. Downfalls in the economy force the next generation to be educated in economics as well as take on responsibility and jobs that they otherwise wouldn't.

That most of my generation has NO concept of living in the real world.  Everyone I know under 25 is living beyond their means ... none of them have a savings account, much less a 401k or other retirement account.  None of them cook at home, they eat out all the time ... they don't clip coupons (probably since they don't shop for food), they don't shop around for the best price.  They all have 897 cable channels, cell phone plans that cost them $100+ each month, cars that cost more than I make in a year.  They go clothes shopping on a weekly basis, go out every weekend, and spend endless amounts of money on manicures and tanning salons.  Most of these people still live with their parents.  Not that there's anything wrong with that (couldn't be ME, though), but I know if I was still living at my parents' house you can be damn sure I'd have my finances down pat!  Hell, I've got more money stashed away than them NOW, and I've been out of my parents' house for years now (and in my own home).
I guess it should be somewhat comforting to know that I have something they don't ... my own home and my complete independence.  But ahhhhhh, it would be nice to NOT worry about money quite so much.
